World Tuberculosis Day is approaching, and about 6,000 people are still diagnosed with the disease in Taiwan every year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today that it will strengthen screening this year for high-risk groups such as those with poorly controlled diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and dialysis patients, hoping to reach the goal of screening at least 15,000 people.

Tuberculosis is one of the important infectious diseases in the world. March 24 is World Tuberculosis Day every year. The World Health Organization (WHO) continues the theme this year as Yes! We Can End TB.

Artiste Chiang Tsu-ping was invited to serve as the epidemic prevention ambassador. She laughed and said that she was surprised to receive the invitation. She used to think that this was just a term that existed in textbooks. Today, standing here as an ordinary person, she feels that she has benefited a lot. She reminds the public that if there are already infected people around them, they must get screened as soon as possible to protect themselves and their families.
