East End Poets is a group of poets who often meet at each other's homes in the East End neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. We also hold readings. What is poetry?
We're a group of poets who meet monthly at each other's homes to discuss poetry & many other topics, to read our poems to each other. To find collegial rapport among others who share the somewhat strange, perhaps, phenomenology of being deeply interested in poetry. If you know the answer, please let us know: More to come. Many answers are possible here. Category: Facebook doesn't let us choose "
Poetry" . . . not an option. So "Performing Arts" seemed to be the closest. As people we include great folks:
Charlie Brice
Judy Brice
Ann Curran
Judith Dorian
Mary Kate Florio (Kate)
Sheila Kelly
Marc Jampole (ex-officio, a founder)
Randy Minnich (once in awhile)
Rita Mockus (congratulations on being a mom)
Mike Schneider
Bob Walicki
Arlene Weiner
Ethan Winograd (ace musician)
Eileen Vandergrift (went to the Rocky Mountains)
Marilyn "Bobbi" Bates (1939-2013)

More than pleased I am (Yoda syntax) to have been honored by Hungry Hill Writers in West Cork, Ireland with 2nd prize in their 2022 Poets Meet Politics International Open Competition. Occasioned by this award, with a reading & book launch in Castletownbere, Ireland, I traveled there — with the good company of my friend Jan — from September 1-11. A wonderful trip. Gratitude to the Hungry Hill Writers.
