Transforming Railways In Tanzania
Last week, the Railways Africa Magazine was in #Tanzania attending a technical workshop organised by the African Union Commission’s Infrastructure and Energy Department - Transport and Mobility Division. The workshop included a visit to Dar es Salaam port and Tanzania Railways Corporation’s Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). There is a famous proverb that goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This single step culminates in the transformative execution of projects like the Tanzania Railways Corporation's SGR project. Over the last few years, we at Railways Africa Magazine have written extensively about this journey, so it was an emotional moment for our editor to witness it in person. Something that started is now well on its way to completion—something that will change the face of transport and logistics, not only in Tanzania but throughout the East African Community.
