Being a part of someone’s movement journey is a privilege. When a client allows me in to their world and we explore goals and challenges, looking for opportunities to improve and feel good in our bodies, I don’t take it for granted.

We are so different in how we have lead our lives, how we have picked injuries along the way. The way we were taught and believed in how to heal and whether we are ‘allowed’ to do that sport we love so much post injury.

Words and actions matter, and in my early teaching days I know I made mistakes. I believed if we were not in neutral alignment the world would combust and we would hurt ourselves. That we were fragile.

Luckily for me and my clients, I continued to learn about movement and anatomy with .education and and some big learning came.

We are not fragile. We are strong and can heal very well. Rehab is a lot about reassurance and encouragement, listening and working together to build trust in each other and our bodies.

has celebrated her 1 year anniversary of coming to my classes. She’s AMAZING. Yogi for 30+ years, I won’t say her age, but she looking fantastic, is super strong and capable and is so dedicated to her movement and caring for her body. She joined as a 1:1 client and around 4 months ago she moved to group classes. If I am her strength when I get to her age I’ll be very happy. She wanted to be able to walk and babysit with more ease and she’s definitely succeeded. A couple of knocks along the way, and bounced back quickly with rest and tlc, it really is a journey and she’s nailed it. Well done Barbara 👏

built this studio and they’ve done a fantastic job, if anyone is looking for one - they are the best ⭐️ finished the job (if anyone saw the state of the garden after we had to dig it up for drainage- Stefan saved me from going crazy 🤪 and laid a beautiful pathway leading up to the studio.

We all know John aka my dad needs a mention- he was here digging, moving many barrows with me…he’s a treasure.

Have you ever had an injury and not known what to do? Hopefully this acronym will help you out incase you ever do hurt yourself.
If you ever used the RICE acronym you might notice a few differences, can you spot them?
The biggest thing to remember when you are injured is that it's not the end of the world if we are dealing with a sprain etc. It might set you back, which is frustrating, but it can also be a great indicator of where you could improve on so that you have less chance of re injury.

People often ask if Reformer Pilates can help with weight loss. It does in that it burns calories and increases muscle mass etc. However, for most it is not enough to only exercise if you are looking to lose weight.

Once you come to class, you'll feel good and you'll naturally want to do better things for your body. This is where the lifestyle habits often adjust. We often eat more mindfully when we think about the fuel we put in our bodies.

Its a journey, enjoy the process and don't beat yourself up.

Don't think you have to wait to be 'slim' to come to my classes. Start where you are, come for the endorphins and keep moving. 🥰

Hello! There’s some new followers and a good time to reintroduce myself!

✨I’m Helen, my Reformer Studio is down at the bottom of the garden (not with the Poddington Peas - showing my age

✨I’m the only Pilates Teacher you’ll ever have in my studio - my crazy cues are all you need to get used to!

✨I’m a Clinical Pilates teacher so any aches, pains, goals you have will be considered in each class.

✨I’m a single Mum of two kids 👦 👧, 2 cats 🐈‍⬛ 🐈‍⬛ & a puppy 🐶

✨I never know if I’m perimenopausal, losing my mind or just really bloody tired 😂

✨I love that the Reformer gives me options to move my body and release tension, build strength or just have a good stretch ❤️

✨I like to nerd out on movement and pain psychology - and how exercise is excellent for managing pain!

✨I gave up drinking in January (the first resolution I’ve ever kept) and it’s been the best thing ever in helping me sleep and for my mood. Highly recommended and it’s trendy now!

✨I’m really enjoying this road of self discovery I’m on. Learning why I make the choices I do, what makes me push myself so much…but also learning to be kind to myself. We are only on this earth for so long, it would be crazy to not get to know ourselves well ❤️

The kids are off school, and those lucky enough to be jetting away to hotter climates will be packing their bags! I have very slightly reduced the timetable from now until September. The only difference is Tuesday 1030am and Thursday 1015am have been taken off. There are still 13 classes to choose from.

If you have yet to try a Reformer class, this summer is perfect to set you up in a small group where you'll have the chance to learn the exercises, and how to use the springs for your fitness level.

Beginners, pre and post natal - you are very welcome!

The studio is closed from Thursday 25th July and will reopen with this timetable Wednesday 7h August.

Strong class today in our 9am class! 💪🏻💪🏻

There’s a prenatal client of 29 weeks and also a near newbie of her second class ever in this session.

What I love most about our All Levels classes is the way you can push yourself further or hang back throughout. Pre & Post Natal clients are very welcome in these classes - in fact it is highly encouraged so that you and your baby get the benefits from being strong and flexible as you prepare for welcoming little one into the world, and healing and having something for yourself as you transition to Motherhood.

I’m pre & post natal qualified so have you covered for a good workout with some modifications…I call them layers. For example dropping down to knees on the bed for long stretch, and abdominal work in other positions so you’re not on your back for an extended period.

Newbies…the same goes for you..layers layers layers. The options are there, and you choose your layer. Today might be the day you go into full long stretch (think moving plank) or it might not be…keep your knees down and build up to it.

There’s no competition here. You are the master of your own springs 😃

I love our small group classes, chilled out with a few giggles thrown in amongst the holds, pulses and of course some stretch ❤️

Meet - she’s been coming to class since January this year. She came for a 1:1 and I’m sure she’s happy to admit she was pretty nervous. She’s had back problems and worried she would hurt herself, fear of pain very normal to be expected- healthy human survival technique!

Turns out though, even on her first session she was very capable and managed everything asked of her. So she booked into an All Levels class- again, she fitted in well and continued on a strong start to reformer classes. We worked on all positions for an all over body workout & stretch, adding layers on each class. A few twinges now and then are normal in rehab of course but Louise coped well and scaled to her level when she needed to.

Only a few weeks in, she only went and smashed Athletics class!! 💪🏻💪🏻🔥

She is awesome- strong, capable and knows where she wants to push on and also to adapt when she needs to.

I mean look at the photo - full long stretch knees off and holds it SO well. This is all you Louise…you’re fantastic, so proud of your progress and most of all I’m chuffed to bits for your confidence rising in what your body can do - your spine is S T R O N G ❤️ Well done!

It’s a pleasure seeing you challenge yourselves and surprising yourselves as to what you can do. Classes are for all level of fitness and you’ll find that the banter gets you through, and you don’t realise you’re working so hard until you walk down the stairs 😂

Small group classes are such good fun, we laugh, we encourage and we move to get fit, strong & flexible 🔥❤️💪🏻

Stage 4935 of ‘finding myself’ post relationship breakup and moving forward with my two wonderful children.

Olivia & Jesse are added to this beautiful design by the talented and I just adore it- and so do the kids! Olivia wants me to get a full sleeve 😂 Jesse likes it being small. I just love it and that it has us all in there ❤️

41 with my first tattoo. Wow. What else is 2024 going to bring? It started off pretty cruddy but I really believe it’s going to be the start of good things.

With amazing funny and devoted clients who never fail to crack me up, surprise me with their love for arms & abs series (sadists) and who are just an absolute joy to work with…I look forward to coming into the studio.

If you’re dealing with pain be it low back,hip, shoulder - joining a new class can be daunting. My classes are all small with no more than four to a class but even in a small group I know some people prefer starting off with a private session.

This is why I’ve added this pack. It’s a great way to get started, and you can be safe knowing I’ll know what your current fitness level is and any concerns you have so I can make the class work for you.

This intro pack is great for newbies, pre and post natal or simply anyone who prefers this way of getting into reformer pilates.

Meet - event rider with a gazillion horses to ride and train on a daily basis. She’s one of the horse community that is strong in both body and mind.

Recent battering off one of her horses and a fall a few days later resulted in a muscle spasm in her neck. Neck pain is the pits! She’s been doing her exercises from the physio and knows it’s a few weeks to expect some pain in the area.

What I love about Nim is that she knows her own body and is confident that she can choose the range to go to and how hard to push herself (which is further than most!)

It’s natural to want to back off and protect yourself when in pain. It’s not the best idea though to not move at all as you’ll stiffen up and the pain cycle begins.

Rest of course but try to move within 7 days even gentle movement, and build up gradually so you gain confidence in your body again.

Nim you’re awesome- don’t forget some self care later too ❤️ a nice warm bath 🛁 😃 perfect time to delegate some of the mucking out!

& brought Dad along to class! Nerves are normal, especially when you don’t know what to expect when you see these reformers!

Peter, Emily & Kathryn all worked to their own level and got a good work out. Working out in a small group as a private session is a really great way to spend time together and have an endorphin boost!

I always look forward to seeing you ladies, and I hope Peter had fun too! ❤️ pretty sure he was happy in those straps 😂
