Mike Mad Dog Adams
Comments, Pictures, Songs, Gibberish, Music, Opinions, Laughs, Drinking, Bad Poetry, Shows/Venues The list is long and continues to grow.
A Put-in-Bay, Oh., Round House Bar island tradition, since 1980, Mike "Mad Dog" Adams is living-proof that, "Every Day Above Ground Is A Gooood Day." (A catch-phrase he began using in his show in the early eighties.) "Mad Dog", who has been a music critic/writer for Scene Magazine, spends his winters on the road headlining music and comedy clubs large and small from British Columbia and Alaska to
Throw back Thursday.
I came across a bunch of my old articles and reviews.
This one was from 1987 for the hit Broadway musical Big River based on Mark Twain’s classic novel Huckleberry Finn with songs by the great country music artist Roger Miller (King of the Road)
Miller won a Tony for his songs.
I wonder if there could ever be a revival of this show considering todays social climate. Hell, I wonder if they even still have the book in libraries?
I try to appreciate and respect everybody for who or what they are and what they believe in.
Whether I agree or not.
Live an' let live.
But don't try to force me to agree with or accept what I don't believe in.
Also, I reserve the right to laugh at or comment on what I think is funny.
Whether you agree or not.
I think that's how many people feel.
Although most people feel with their hands.

RIP one of my favorite novelists, Tim Dorsey.
His fast-paced, Florida-based, humorous, somewhat sadistic and inventive revenge-murder stories skewed with attacks on Floridian pop-culture provided me with many countless hours of hilarious guilty pleasure while on the road 'tween shows.
Like Carl Hiassen on steroids.
Thanks for the great entertainment, Tim.
Long live Serge Storms!
Novelist Tim Dorsey, who mixed comedy and murder in his Serge A. Storms stories, dies at 62 NEW YORK (AP) — Tim Dorsey, a former police and courts newspaper reporter who found lasting fame as the creator of the crime-comedy novel series starring Serge A. Everybody is welcome!
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, my friends.
It was way back in 1492 when Columbus brought the Pilgrims to Inscription Rock on Kelleys Island where they defeated the Canadians in the Battle of Lake Erie and made Commodore Oliver Wendel Douglas the first president of the 16 colonies.
The more you know!
Looking forward to a big weekend.
Tonight, Fri., is Rick n' Amy's annual party on Catawba Island.
I'll be telling stories, singing songs and hanging out for an informal evening of fun.
And, of course, tomorrow is the annual OSU/MI game and Kids for Christmas fundraiser at Mr. Ed's in Port Clinton, Oh.
The fun begins at game time and will roll right on through the evening.
I'll be performing following the game and our good friend Adubb will be playing the jams.
Hope to c you this weekend.

Here's one for all the Vets and my good friend, marine veteran, Ben "Mongo" Marich
This tune is written and performed by one of my all-time favorite songwriters Tom Russell.
Johnny Cash recorded a version but I think Tom's version is the better of the two.
Thank you Veterans.

Meditate on this.
It’s easier to be stoic….if you don’t have an electric blanket.
Just 'et mah' first Russian Tea Bisquit!
OMG! Where have you been all my life you beautiful, delicious, diabetic thing, you?
Now, look, we can only do this once in awhile cuz' a sweet thing like you could kill me.
I'm at that age where pastry is replacing s*x.
You wanna' get nasty with me?
We're going to the Cheesecake Factory!
Some Friday morn pastry p**n.
"HO HO HO OZEMPIC"
Paying attention makes you really appreciate the good you can find around you.
On the other hand, ignoring it all affords you the luxury of ignorance.
Tough call, really.
We had a splendid weekend to, two, too fun shows at Crew's Inn, Harrison Twnshp., Mi. and Heath Eagles, Clyde, Ohio.
Thanks everybody!
Loved seeing the homemade Mad Dog shirt.
Gonna' take a few weeks and figure out what I'm gonna' do this winter.
Maybe stay north and do a few shows.
Not sure my bum leg can take the long driving hours. Seems to slowly be getting better though.
Maybe a Facebook Perch Church this Friday evening?
Even worse this morning on I 94 South. Avoid at all cost.
I’ve never seen such a screwed up mess. From three lanes to one and then the freeway closes and they dump all the traffic onto Gratiot Rd.
All exits are closed and folks were driving up the onramps to try and escape this lame-brained nonsense.
A few miles down Gratiot to the freeway again.
This is what happens when you legalize w**d, I guess, lol.
Lots of billboards promoting pot stores.
On the upside….there was a lot less road rage. But some incredibly stupid drivers
Licking our wounds at Cracker Barrel. Then on to the next show.
Great time last night! Thanks everybody.
I wanted to post a pic of Doug but he doesnt like that and doesnt do social media. I said, “who ya hiding from?”
He said,”myself” lol.
Man, I hate I 75 in Michigan. Over an hour to get 13 miles and then a host of other delays. Who’s in charge of this mess? They should be keel-hauled or cornholed.
Almost showtime.
Looking forward to a beautiful weekend.
Getting ready to hit the road for tonight's gig in Mi. at Crew's Inn.
Tomorrow night, Sat., Join us in Clyde, Oh at the Eagles Club.
Info posted below.
(so I was foolin' 'round with the AI trying to come up with something clever for the ad and submitted, Clyde Barrow (from Bonnie and Clyde) and the Eagles robbing a bank. This is the pic it created. I did process the pic a bit. As a promo not sure how it works but it is kinda' fun.)
I hope you have a peaceful weekend.
Heads up, (JUST SOSE YA' DON'T DRIVE ALL THAT WAY AND CAN'T GET IN!)
Tomorrow night's dinner show at the Crews Inn, Harrison Township, Mi. is sold out.
Thanks!
The Round House is ready for it’s winter slumber ❄️ Very thankful for this hard-working Red Shirt Staff ❤️ We had a fun season Celebrating our 150th and a not so fun season of recovering from two floods! Thank You to everyone and Cheers to 2024 🎉
Absolutely beautiful weather around the Lake Erie Islands area!
When I was a kid it was referred to affectionately as, "Indian Summer".
No Afghan Winter, no Pakastani Spring, no Nepal Fall?
Just Indian Summer.
This confused me.
So I went to ask my Indian friend who worked at the new deli down the street.
He said summers in India were much different than here.
"Summer hot, summer cold."
Anyway, enjoy the weather.
Man, we had us a BIG time Saturday for Put-in-Bay Halloween at the Round House Bar on South Bass Island, (Oh) and the final show of my 43rd year performing there!

Yepper, fall is my favorite time o' year.
Football, cider, leaves changing colorz (I miss the smell of burning leaves), crisp fresh air, clambakes, sweaters and sweatshirts, Halloween, Oktoberfests...
I've performed at many Oktoberfests over the years and always enjoy the heavy/hearty eastern-European food, beer and polka music.
Everybody should be able to, at least once a year, gorge themselves on the likes of schnitzel, sauerbraten, potato pancakes and spatzle.
This weekend, Sat. & Sun., Put-in-Bay (on South Bass Island, Oh) has their annual Oktoberfest under the big tent in DeRivera Park.
The live polka music is always grand, the food always excellent. And, of course, no shortage of beer at PIB.
It's a different kind of island weekend.
Few amateurs and kids.
And, once you've had your fill of Bavarian cultural appropriation you can join me for some Perch Church services across the street at the Round House Bar.
I'll be doing my Mad Dog thing from 2-5:30 on Saturday only!
So whip out your lederhosen and come over to the island.
Prost!
(pic...80's TV spot for the Geauga Lake Old World Oktoberfest and some PIB Oktoberfest revelers join me on stage)
Nothing like Crown Royal to help with the dusting.
Just tidying-up a bit.

A little piece of history.
