Kid and I crossed paths many times in the 80s and 90s when he was touring with harmonica ace James Harman's band, and I was with the Dynatones. In 1995, Ramos got a call from the Fabulous T-Birds' Kim Wilson to join a band that had inspired him 17 years earlier. Kim and Kid's collaboration revitalized the T-Birds, leading to a flourishing career on the road and in the studio.

When it was time for me to create my own record, Kid was at the top of my collaboration wishlist. Luckily, he was available and willing to join me for a couple of quick sessions up north, resulting in my only record to date, "On The Wildside." In 2003, Kid joined my band for a couple of Bay Area dates to celebrate the album's release.

I'm really looking forward to these upcoming dates and to hear Kid play again. Get ready for two shows at two of my favorite venues on the planet. See you all there!

Road Dog R***e
I'm humbled and blown away by the response from Wednesday's show. I am incredibly fortunate to have the finest musicians anywhere in my band so, no surprise as to their ability to create excitement, but to have my name on the Marquee and see the best fans on the globe walk through the door is truly an honor. Thank you Terrie Odabi Vocalist for carrying the charge late into the night, Diana for making both RDR shows at the Fox happen, A.J. Rossi for joining us on stage and in the house as well, Frank D Rose picking up my bass carrying that grove, Daryl Hawkins endless selfless support and Vince Caminiti for your abilities to bring consistent and amazing music to the community. Carmen Ratti , AJ Crawdaddy and Otilia Donaire Band where all in the house and will be performing at the Fox in the coming weeks. Do support these amazing musicians with your attendance or ask Vince how you might help sponsor a show. 🚌🌪

What to expect - Randy McDonald is best known as the veteran bassist behind Tommy Castro & The Painkillers.
2022 marked 30 years of performing together, culminating with six nominations and sweeping three major awards at the 43rd Blues Music Awards in Memphis.

Castro took the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year award, Album of the Year for Tommy Castro Presents a Bluesman Came to Town, and with Randy and the Painkillers, won Band of the Year award. “Randy’s been with me from the beginning as a major contributor to the music we play,” recalls Castro.

Always on the go, Randy has gathered fellow distinguished musicians to perform on the side as ROAD DOG R***E. Fronting an insane amount of musical talent, Randy’s infectious candor pulls you in and before you know it, this dynamic band will have you tapping more than just your feet as they belt out R&B, 50’s Rock’n’Roll, Tex-Mex Border Rock, Swing, and a smidgeon of Jazz & Boogie, including songs from McDonald’s solo recording, “On The Wildside”.

Philip Elwood (San Francisco Examiner) said, “Randy McDonald creates bass lines as intricate as any I’ve ever heard, weaving through the tunes. You may also have seen him step to the mic on occasion to lead the band through any number of raucous R&B and original tunes”.

Road Dawgs include:
Tal Morris - Guitar and Vocals
Guitarist, master teacher, music producer.
Kevin Hayes - Drums
Drummer, songwriter; drummer for The Robert Cray Band.
Michael Emerson - Keyboards
Bandmate, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers; master teacher, music pro
