Homecoming 2024

Senator Fans, it is Homecoming Week at Portsmouth West High School. Join us Thursday evening, for our traditional Homecoming parade around campus! The parade will kick off after the soccer game around 7:45. Line the sidewalks in front of the elementary school, middle school and high school. Bring your Senator spirit to cheer on our band, cheerleaders, soccer team, volleyball team, SOC champion golf team, cross country team, football team and, of course, our Homecoming Queen and her Court. The soccer match against Waverly begins at 6:00. Come out and cheer our soccer team on to a VICTORY for their Senior Night. No need to cook, the concession stand will be open for dinner and snacks. Then, we will show our spirit as we parade around the most beautiful campus in the state. We hope to see you there!

Last week, I borrowed this wonderful replica of a knight from the Scioto County Public Library children’s librarian Miss Hailey. I taught my 6th graders the story of “King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table” (school appropriate version) and wanted my studentsto see what a knight looked like back in the 13th century. They loved it:) Thank you to all who posed for photos with Sir Ralstin Lloyd-Jenkins. (Our students picked his name). Also, thank you Miss Hailey and the Scioto County Public Library for letting us borrow this wonderful treasure!

Washington-Nile will be conducting their Designer Purse Bingo to raise money for the UCAN Legacy Scholarship Fund Thursday, September 12. Doors will open at 5:00 pm. Tickets are available at our Middle School. Ask for Lisa Monteith or call 740-858-3893. Also needed are vendors for the event, if interested contact Lisa.

PWMS Athletes: Students who are planning to participate in school affiliated sports this summer and fall must have a completed physical on file in the office. Please make sure to get your completed physical turned into the office as soon as possible. Each physical covers a student for a calendar year.
