We ate at Willow & Jim's Country Cafe in Silvana for breakfast today (SO good!) with my husband's parents to celebrate his birthday, and when we walked out, we stepped a few feet down the block into this awesome antique shop. Walking in, I immediately knew something was different. After chatting with the owner for a few minutes, I learned that everything in the store is donated, and proceeds go to adults with disabilities. 👏🏻Everything is such a great deal! I was completely wowed with the prices, and so thrilled that all of the proceeds go to such a great cause. I talked more about this place in my Instagram-stories, as I can't help but share. The owner also told me her story about her family just barely missing being in the Oso mudslide, and how she lives every day with such a realization about how life is fragile and she has so much gratitude. Definitely check this place out (and Willow and Jim's, too!!) It's a new favorite.

Seeing this photo of our chickens (and ducks!) over on the EB Chicken Food site makes me want to go out and give them some warm water. Brrrr it's been cold, but they're handling it like champs!

Tomorrow we get the tree!!! The last few years we've headed to the mountains and came home with trees that didn't last well (remember last years Charlie Brown🤦🏼‍♀️) so we're heading to a tree farm again and feeling pretty happy about it. Our favorite tree farm closed so I'm wondering which place is your favorite and why???? Kids say their requirement is hot cocoa for the ride home. My requirement is that it needs to be pretty and not one of those big, fancy overly priced places. Just a gorgeous place with that small town feel, please! 😂

We walked through the garden tonight, talking about what we'd like to plant more/less of next year and where we want to put things. I can't help but always be thinking ahead. It's okay though because now is the best time to note what's worked and what hasn't. A few major things are MORE carrots, more sweet peas (the flower kind), more snap peas, better succession planting with our lettuce (it all came on at once and we couldn't keep up with it), different cucumbers (the ones I planted are a pickling variety and they're yuck), and definitely still tons of pumpkins, tomatoes and flowers. What have I loved most about this year??? The fact that I totally envisioned this space for so long and it ALL came true!! It's what I imagined. What would you change about your garden, grow less of or more of?

Looking at these eggs it's hard to imagine that in about 3 or 4 days they'll start to hatch! Today was day 18, so we carefully removed them from their turning trays and gently laid them out inside the incubator. Candling them has been SO fun. We can see them wiggling inside and starting tomorrow, we might even begin to hear them peeping from inside their shells! Time to get the brooder ready. 👏🏻I've posted videos along the way and saved them under "chick hatching", over on Instagram, in case any of you want to see the journey from day 1. Last week I partnered up with Toyota USA to drive this beauty for the week. I'm a diehard Toyota girl for life. When I was about 19, I bought a Corolla that I LOVED...it fit me like a glove and it was so reliable. Then when we had kids, I gave that up for a Sienna minivan, which has also been incredibly good to us. Now I've been driving the minivan for eight years and I've begun to miss having an SUV or a car. So I drove around this 4 Runner TRD Pro for the last week, testing it out to see how it works for our family and oh my word I fell in love!
