Sack Lunches for SHIP!
On Thursday we made over 120 Sack Lunches for the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP908.com) in Somerville.
A favorite project that not only feeds the hungry but builds fellowship with Club members & friends!

Come visit the 2024 Flags for Heroes display of 250+ full-sized flags located on Rt. 601 at Montgomery High School October 18-October 30th
We hope that as you walk among these flags you stop and think about what others have done for you, our community, our nation, and the world. We hope the display will inspire you to emulate these heroes and make a difference in the lives of others.

This week's speaker was Helene Lanctuit, CEO of Share My Meals. Helene played a key role in developing operational and food safety processes for the logistics of redistributing meals collected from large corporate cafeterias to other non-profit organizations.
To date they have delivered 315,000 meals, 2,000 + people served with over 140 volunteers. They work with over 60 local meal providers. Her presentation was very inspiring, and Helene is expanded their territory for families in need of meals.

Veliko Bekir was our guest speaker this week. Veliko demonstrated and spoke about holograms and his interest in them. It was a very informative presentation. Many businesses and organizations are using holograms and artificial intelligence to promote their business.

Donnetta Bishop-Johnson, executive director of the Allegra School of Music and Arts was our guest speaker at this week's breakfast meeting.
Donnetta is the founder of the Allegra School of Music and Arts, and recently purchased Gasior's Furniture on Rt. 206 in Montgomery. She is in the process of renovating the 10,000 sq. ft. building and spoke about the future plans for the building and the programs/lessons that will be offered.
This will be quite a change from the exiting 2,200 sq. foot they have operated out of since 1999!
We look forward to their grand opening in the Spring of 2025!

At our club meeting this week, Rotary District 7475 new District Governor Jeannie Tsukamoto joined us for a fact filled meeting. Jeannie reviewed with us the new and updated District 7475 website, and reviewed all the on-line assistance that is now available to club officers and members. It was very informative with a good Q&A period afterward.
We had the pleasure of hearing from the MHS Interact Club Board of Directors at our meeting yesterday. They have great things planned for the upcoming year, and Rotary is looking forward to working together!
The Rotary Club of Montgomery Rocky Hill is proud to sponsor 3 Interact Clubs(High School, Upper & Lower Middle Schools). Our Rotarians enjoy mentoring and guiding Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills while making a difference in our community and around the world.
At our meeting on Thursday, Rotary’s 2024 Yumi Shibatani Scholarship recipient Catherine Petrozzini and her father Chuck stopped by before heading off to college. It was great to see them both and we know Catherine will do great things!
This summer Mr. Raghuraman Dandapani has been attending our club breakfast meetings.
Raghu is the Director of International Services for the Rotary Club of Jayangar, Bengaluru, India.

It is a Rotary International tradition to exchange flags with visiting Rotarians.
Yesterday was a special for Raghu as he was celebrating India's 77th anniversary of their Independance Day!
This morning's speaker was Daniel Lima, owner and operator of Blue Skye K9 . Daniel offers a variety of dog training programs including puppy training, basic obedience, advanced obedience and E- collar training. It was obvious he is very good at what he does with dog training, and our members had many good questions for him.
We all earned a lot about the idiosyncrasies of proper dog training!
Janet Boris, Senior District Executive of the Crossing Council, BSA was our guest speaker this morning. Since being District Executive Janet has been recognized nationally for achieving growth in both the Mercer Area District in and Lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania. her focus now is the Mercer Area District.
Her spirit and dedication to the Boy Scouts of America was evident in her enthusiastic up lifting presentation about the Mercer Area District and the difference they are making in a child's life.

Aileen Kornblatt, Development Director for Dress For Success Central NJ was our guest speaker this morning.
Aileen and her staff and volunteers assist women and young girls by empowering them to achieve economic independence by providing them a network of support, professional attire and help women thrive in work and in life.

Ian Hammett (pictured left with MRH Rotary Club past President Doug Merritt) was our guest speaker at this morning's club breakfast.
Ian is an attorney who specializes in Estates and Trusts and spoke about the importance of having your affairs in order - Especially in respect to Wills, Power of Attorney and Living Will/Advanced Directive.
The Q&A afterwards had some interesting questions posed and his answers discussed.

Our guest speaker this morning was John Haney, executive director of The Chubby's Project. The Chubby's Project is located in Hopewell and is a hyperlocal non-profit organization providing food and companionship to the surrounding communities. John spoke about the need in the community for groceries, fresh produce and prepared meals. These items are donated, stored and delivered by their many wonderful volunteers. They are located at Aunt Chubby's Luncheonette, and are 2 different entities working together.

Since the club’s founding in 1990, members of the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club has offered their personal time to people in need and have raised over a million dollars for worthwhile local, national and international causes. The members of the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club are men and women who live and/or work in the community - your friends, neighbors, and business associates. We are a volunteer organization with a motto of "Service Above Self.” Our service is generally done behind the scenes and always with the goal of making a difference in the lives of others. The MHS Scholarship Program has been a cornerstone of our giving since 1990.

The classification talk gives members the opportunity to hear from a new member on his or her background, their family and career path.
