Last Thursday was the opening of Norfolk Public Schools High School Spring exhibition hosted at Old Dominion University. We would like to thank the amazing art educators of NPS & students for attending. The works are currently still on display on the first floor of the Barry Building and the 2nd floor within the student Gallery in Hixon. Make sure to check out the incredible works of art before it’s too late!

What to expect if you join us for our open studio?
1. After signing in, you will be provided paint and a brush by our talented team.
2. You will then be able to practice on our test sheets before you’re comfortable and ready for the real-deal.
3. You will paint any spot with the color code indicated on your paint cup (think paint by numbers!)
4. You will be able to contribute to the most dazzling (and only) research based mural on the ODU campus!
Of course, our team will be there to help with every step along the way. We are so excited to see you!

We would like to congratulate Aubrey McMillion and Amber Piece on graduating from our program!
Aubrey received a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education as well as a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
Amber received a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 3-D Material Studies.
We wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors and are sure they will go on to be great educators in the field of Art Education.

Last night was the opening for the first annual BFA Art Education Senior Show, THEN AND NOW. This exhibition aims to evoke a sense of wonder and explore the depths of your inner child.
Thanks to all who attended the Art Ed seniors' opening, and congrats to our seniors for curating an outstanding show! Special thanks to Dr. Natalia Pilato () for her assistance and support.
The show will be available for viewing from now until December 15th.

Students and Faculty, please join ODU Art Education student and 2023 Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries Student Juried Best in Show Winner, Bria Tyler (.studio ) this Friday , December 8th at the Chrysler Museum’s glass studio as she will be doing a glass demo with ODU professor Kristi Totoritis ( ) & staff starting at noon! Then following the demo, watch Tyler’s Instagram live talk on the Chrysler Museum’s Instagram page ( ).
Tyler’s works are a combination of various English influences, interwoven with her own cultural influences. Her art celebrates the beauty of black hair, and she believes it is a crucial message that needs to be conveyed to the world.
