Gauge 1 North looms, and of course I'll be there with my stand - looking forward to bmeeting losts of customers, old and new!

For those of you mourning the loss of Northern Finescale, I'll have my range of 10mm scale resin bodied wagons to have a look at. I like to think these are of very good quality, with axleguards, buffers and brake gear all made as lost wax castings. I will of course many of my catague items as I can fit in the car (and believe me, it will be full!)

See you there!

Roger

I've been asked to do a small batch of Aster Spam Can gauge glass fittings, in bronze rather than brass as the originals were - apparently they suffer from de-zincification, go brittle and can snap off after a few years use. Bronze should solve that issue. It's only a small batch at the moment for a single customer, but if you are interested in buying one of these please get in touch and let me know and I'll increase the batch size. Don't know the price yet, but they are more complicated than usual and bronze is dearer than brass, so will be more expensive than regular gauge glass fittings.

It is very regrettable, but from early February I may not be able to send out orders on a next-day basis. The reason is that the Post Office in my village is closing down, and the next nearest is around 5 miles away. Getting there in time to catch the last post will mean finishing earlier and shortening my working day, as well as increasing my travelling costs, so you parcel might take 2days rather than one! Sorry, but its just another example of declining standards of service. It's not so long since I had a choice of 2 POs within easy walking distance. I'll do my best, though!

I have had a letter from a French member this morning - he remembers seeing an old Paul Forsyth design for a GSWR (Manson?) 4-6-0 in a Locosteam catalogue from 1999 and, having just retired, is keen to build it. It isn't, however, on the list of Forsyth drawings in the NLJ. Does anyone know of a set of drawings for it that could be copied for him? Or anything else about the design for that matter!

It is sobering to realise that the G1MRA AGM at Woking is now little more than a month away! I can't speak for other traders, but any spare time I have till then is being spent getting ready! If anyone wants to place an order for collection at the show, please get in touch well before the day!

Over the past year some items have become increasingly harder to source, notable 1-3/4" and 2" copper tube in the most popular 20g wall thickness. I have recently managed to obtain some of each size and will have 12" lengths available at the show but if you want a specific length (I sell it by the inch on, pro rata) I'll need to know in advance.

Does anyone have a drawing or picture of the water tank fillers on the LSWR/SR M7? I cannot find any pictures looking down on the tanks!
