SYLVIA DONOVAN
It is with deep sadness that we have to tell you that our dear friend Sylvia Donovan has passed away after a short stay in hospital. In recent months Sylv had become more forgetful and confused but had continued to live alone with the help of neighbours and friends. Sylv was a lovely lady, always cheerful, ready to help, and would be on her feet dancing as soon as she heard music - especially Abba.
Sylv was the longest serving member of our branch,.she joined 54 years ago and was to receive a long service medal this year. She had a bronze badge for her services which included being membership secretary, running the knitted and toiletries stall and collecting until last May.
We all miss her contribution to the branch but most of all as a dear friend.
God Bless You Sylv and may you rest in peace..
We collected £757.48 at Morrisons Erith over the last two days.
Thanks to the people of Erith and to Morrisons for letting us collect.
We collected £678.35 today at Bexleys’ railway stations and in the Broadway.
The total will be more when we get the figures from our contactless card machine.
Thanks as always to the people of Bexley.
We have been collecting in the Broadway Shopping Mall all week and have raised £1770.70.
The final figure will be more as we don’t have an amount for contactless card payments yet and we also deployed some temporary boxes in local schools and businesses.
Thank you to the people of Bexleyheath.
Our Vice Chairman John Thake represented the Branch at the memorial service in Bexleyheath this morning, and laid a wreath on behalf of the RNLI.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

We collected £840 over the last two days at Morrisons Erith.
Thank you for you support.
Sadly Barbara’s mum, Muriel Bremner, passed away peacefully this morning aged 102 years. She was in hospital for 15 weeks awaiting placement in a nursing home. As she deteriorated the hospital agreed to keep her as we wished. We have lost a willing supporter, a very dear member of both John and Barbara’s family and our lifeboat family. Any donations in lieu of flowers will be to RNLI Bexleyheath branch."
Update - Our total for Lifeboat Week was £3000.13.
Thanks again to the generous people of Bexley.
A huge thank you to the people of Bexley.
We have been collecting in the shopping centre all week and on Tuesday morning ( London Lifeboat Day) also collected at Bexleyheath, Bexley and Barnhurst stations.
We await final figures but we have collected in excess of £2600.00.
