Yep

Cats have 276 distinct facial expressions, a discovery that turns on its head the popular belief that our pet felines are aloof and just not that into us.

In fact, cats likely evolved these various expressions because of us. Here’s how: https://on.natgeo.com/3SQ3g3f

October is Black Cat Awareness month.

The month of October is especially difficult for black cats and kittens because their fur color is often associated with Halloween, witches, bad luck and evil.

We all know that black cats are beautiful inside and out. Share with your fellow feline-loving TICA followers your black cat in the comments. We will use your photos and videos in various social media posts throughout the month to help show just how wonderful it is to share your life with a black cat.

Interesting Cat Fact: Cats have up to 100 different vocalizations — dogs only have 10. Meowing is a behavior that cats developed exclusively to communicate with people. Is your cat a vocal cat? If so, share with your fellow feline-loving TICA followers a story or video of some of the ways they communicate with you.

One of the most commonly know superstitions is the belief that black cats bring bad luck when they cross your path. We all know this is the farthest from the truth and that black cats are simply wonderful animals that get a bad rap.

Share with your fellow feline-loving TICA followers your wonderful black cat in the comments below. To help promote the beauty and joy black cats add to our lives TICA will repost some of the photos from the comments below on our Instagram page all week. Pet cats only. As always, no cattery names in photos and no information about adoption/rehiring or sale of cats/kittens.

Help stop animal cruelty in the most humane way possible which is Neutering!

At PPBCC Veterinary Hospital we receive at least one patient who suffered from animal cruelty on a daily basis. There are multiple ways to harm animals and sometimes we don't notice it right away. Simply neglecting your pet's health and well-being can be labeled as animal cruelty. Animal cruelty is not always gruesome, it can also be unintentional. Be sure to take good care of your pets by making sure that:

1. Ensuring that they get access to proper veterinary care.
2. They live in a comfortable and safe environment. Don't let them go out unattended.
3. They are fed regularly and properly.
4. They have access to clean water and food.
5. They have access to all their necessary needs. (Exercise, food, water, toys, attention, etc.)

Animals should be treated like any other living being on earth. Our government has laws against causing harm to animals as well as those owners who tend to neglect their pets which lead to them causing harm to other humans.

Aside from this, you can have your pets neutered to prevent not only unwanted litters but also life-threatening diseases. Neutering is the most humane way to control overpopulation which often leads to an increase in animal abuse cases.

Report animal abuse cases to 911 or your barangay and take legal action to make a change. Simply reporting is not enough to end the rapidly increasing number of animal abuse in our country!

Be a part of our advocacy and make a change in companion animal welfare!
