Moons for transformation.
The moon is a portal between the light of the sun and the darkness of night, and thus often represents the realm between the conscious and the unconscious. In astrology, it is a symbol of the soul, and in the horoscope it‘s your capacity for reflection and adaptation.

Gatekeepers
The statues guard the liminal space, like liminal Sphinxes.
Mythical beings inspired by the deity Sekhmet. An ode to the féminine power.
The revelation of the woman is symbolically presented in ancient civilizations. In the ancient Egypte, Sekhmet, the lion-faced woman is the manifestation of power. She proved she was not a submissive goddess and that one should not play with her magic....
The statues were hand modelled in wax during a life drawing course celebrating all bodies.

Gatekeeper
These powerful and mysterious gatekeepers were created in response to the sculpture of the lion man. They guard the entrance to the transitional space between real and unreal. The lion man is the first anthropomorphic sculpture found 40,000 years ago. He is the oldest known representation of a being that does not exist in physical form and symbolises ideas about the supernatural.

Earth Day 🔮
Natural Spirit Stone found in Mallorca.
As an artist my main inspiration is nature, I look for clues of the supernatural, I believe in the animistic vision of the world where everything has a soul.
My work plays with this liminality, belonging to several realms at once, both animate and inanimate.
My pièces are an invitation to reconnect, to ground our roots and expand our minds.
Open all your eyes, Earth is looking back.

Each spirit stone is carved with an intention combined with the properties of the material. Their precious powers are collected from flea markets, auctions, imagined and real shores from my travels. They carry histories, memories and magic.

When working with stones, I am interested in the precious powers embedded in the material. I have always collected stones from flea markets, the Thames shores to real and imagined hikes through my travels.
I am drawn to their energy, they carry history, memories, magical properties.
Their eyes look back at me, winking at the animistic vision of the world,
The power of seeing for a re-enchantment of our environment, for reconnecting to the elements as a whole.
Thank you for featuring the spirit amulets,

Chloe Valorso is a jeweller and storyteller.
After graduating her BA (Hons) Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins with First Class Honours, she went on adventures around the world before starting her MA Jewellery and Metal at the Royal College of Art London.
Doing internships with brands and designers like Solange Azagury Partridge, Delfina Delettrez, Alexander Blank, Frederique Morrel, Nelly Rodi, La Prestic Ouiston and Laurent Leger... She has a thirst to learn and discover...
Chloé’s collection takes inspiration from aspects of existing mythologies to create her own belief system. Using her alter ego “Bob” as a recurring motif throughout her work, Chloé explores the importance of narrative and challenges the boundaries between real and unreal. Each piece has been sensitively crafted from natural materials drawn from Chloe’s own highly personal miscellany. The pieces act as amulets that empower the wearer through their compelling symbolic qualities and deep sense of history – an essential component in this innovative interpretation of mythology.
