Their initial source material for the jewelry consisted of reused parts of computers, clocks, phones, cameras and other old devices. However Mei Ro’s design grew in terms of material use, where one can distinguish everyday objects such as beer cans, product labels, collage patterns or toys, recycled into a miniature piece of art. Thereupon their work is characterized by a post-apocalyptic, sculptu
re-like tone, with an accent on the bleak aesthetics. Their goal is not only design making, but moreover exploiting and combining the material to make a unique work of art that tells a story.
