Sometimes the conveniences in life seem to make things easier, but always leave you wanting more. Slowing down, going back to our roots and enjoying the little things can actually be simpler than those day to day conveniences we’ve come to rely on!

Start by making home cooked meals from scratch, learning to can, making sourdough, garden, learning to forage or whatever sparks your interest! Adding in little things to your lifestyle can change a lot, especially over time.

Put down the electronics, spend time outside in nature and ground, take care of animals, check on your garden, cook up something for the family, just slow down and be more present. 🤍

Not so scary Sourdough Starter 👻 I see a lot of people who are intimidated by starting sourdough or feel overwhelmed. It’s really not that scary! It’s so rewarding and nice to know there’s only two ingredients in your bread. I long ferment my sourdough to help gluten intolerance and use a heritage flour or mill my own wheat berries to make it easier to digest! As we grow our homestead, our eyes are always fixed on Jesus. 🤍 A slow year trying to get settled into our new home with our almost 2 year old and being pregnant again, making plans on where to place things on our property and sitting with visions that God puts in our hearts. Garden beds built and set with much more to add and clean up, building the coop for our egg laying chickens, making the chicken tractor for our meat birds, butchered our first round of meat chickens, planting a fruit forest of trees/bushes and so much more! 2024 will bring many more blessings here that we hope to share locally 🤍
