Position: Emergency 911 Telecommunicator
Terrebonne Parish 911 Serves a population of 109,580 residents and many visitors. Our Benefits Package includes, but is not limited to, 98-99% paid Medical Insurance (including Dental and Eye) and 100% paid upon 20th anniversary, Short-Term/Long-Term & Life ins., Vacation & Sick (accrued during first year for use during year two+), Overtime & Holiday Pay, opportunity for annual wage increases, Paid Training & Certifications, retirement plan, longevity and incentives.
Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent), type minimum 40 wpm, have clear & articulate verbal communication skills, be able to multitask under extremely stressful conditions, and be able to work 12+ hour sedentary shifts including days, nights & weekends, and maintain composure and professionalism at all times. All candidates must have a clean criminal record and positive social media presence.
Compensation starts at $18.00/hour. Experience in emergency service dispatching and/or ability to speak multiple languages is desired, but not required.

Terrebonne Parish 911 mourns the passing of a legacy on June 5, 2024. Col. Godfrey "Doc" Buquet, representing the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office was appointed to the founding Board of Commissioners of the Terrebonne Parish Communications District in 1988. It was his mission to bring 911 to the citizens and visitors of Terrebonne Parish. Col. Buquet saw his mission through and served faithfully on the Board for 16 years until 2004. Doc Buquet was a dedicated Public Servant and true mentor.

Last night, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Terrebonne Parish Council meeting I was extremely humbled to be awarded the "Key to the City" by our Parish President Jason Bergeron. My sincere appreciation to all of the Terrebonne Parish Council Members and Parish President Jason Bergeron. Also, a special "Thank You" to Ms Krystal Tipton, TPCG HR Manager and Ms Leilani Adams, TPCG Office Manager who entrusted me to provide a course to the hundreds of absolutely wonderful dedicated staff and employees of the Parish. To all who attended a course, Thank You! Thank you for all of the work that you do that is notice, and that goes unnoticed, that makes our Parish the best in the State to live.

Terrebonne Parish 911
At the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Terrebonne Parish President Jason Bergeron and Human Resources/Risk Management Director Ryan Page awarded a Key to the City to Mark Boudreaux.
Mark Boudreaux is the director of the 911 Communications District. Mark recently implemented a de-escalation training, which was available for all TPCG employees.

These dedicated and professional individuals are the people you call when crisis occurs, the Calm voice in the Chaos, the ones who get the First Responders notified, the 911 Call Takers, the Law Enforcement and Fire Dispatchers, and the Emergency Medical Dispatchers who answer your call no matter what time, day or night. These are the Nameless, Faceless Heroes who have saved so many lives and helped countless people. They are the Proud and Humble people who expect nothing, but give everything.
