Poor Baby, she has been practicing her doggy manners, and got herself all dolled up to meet a potential new family and they didn't show up. Someone out there has to love a Schipperke that just needs a little work.

Marysville, OH - Do we have any Cairn Terrier lovers? Haggis, an almost 7 year old, overweight 25 #, boy will be coming to us as soon as we have a space open. He is a strong, playful boy. At this point we are unsure of his behavior with other animals. He was super friendly with me when I met him today. His elderly owner is no longer able to provide care for him

In recognition of recreational ma*****na becoming legal in Ohio. I would like to offer a reminder that you need to keep your pets away from it, just as you would with any other medication. Cats and dogs can become intoxicated by cannabis in various ways, most commonly by eating edibles (e.g., baked goods, candies, chocolate bars, and chips containing cannabis), or by ingesting cannabis directly (in any form). Pets can also be exposed to second-hand smoke. Most exposures are accidental when curious pets discover access to the drug or when they are present in the same room with a person smoking cannabis. Dogs have more cannabinoid receptors in their brains, which means the effects of cannabis are more dramatic and potentially more toxic when compared to humans. A small amount of cannabis is all it takes to cause toxicity in cats and dogs.

Regardless of the method of exposure, accurate and complete information is imperative to treat the patient successfully. For example, ingestion of a 'pot brownie’ needs different treatment than inhalation because eating the brownie requires treatment for cannabis and chocolate toxicity, whereas inhalation may require additional treatment for respiratory irritation.

A big thank you to Tractor Supply Marysville, for donating the mid-year dog food restocking

Ok all of you budget minded shoppers, I need your help. It is time to replace the living room furniture in the office that was so generously donated years ago. We had a dog staying with us some time ago and she took every opportunity to p*e on the seats. We have cleaned and cleaned to no avail and now it is a huge temptation for other dogs to p*e. We are trying to find a couple of pieces, a couch under 80" long and a love seat, both in faux leather so it is more waterproof and cleans easily. Comfort isn't a huge issue, but it does need to support a decent amount of weight. Where are your cheap go to places? (we have been watching marketplace for used)

Marysville OH - 4 year old, 13 #, Lola is now available for adoption. She is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested, microchipped. Lola is a sweet girl. She is a little hesitant of strange people but warms up quickly. She is housetrained. She loves walks but also loves hanging out in the yard. She has lived with other dogs and doesn't seem to care about cats. She is used to being around her person most of the time and can be clingy and persistent when attention seeking. She is bouncy and will jump on legs when wanting attention. She is a fall risk for someone with mobility issues. Although she loves laps, she is also playful and energetic and likes to run around. She is terrified of car rides, she will freeze up, pant and drool. She is crate trained, and should be crated when left alone, as she might get into things if left unsupervised for long. If interested in Lola please apply at https://www.hospets.org/adoption-application.html adoption fee applies

An increasing number of seniors now face housing insecurity 06/29/2024

The housing situation is really becoming a huge crisis for low income seniors. There is a huge need and far too few options available. We are currently helping two 70+ year old seniors who are without a home. Yes, we are in contact with all of the agencies and shelters. The shelters are full. We searched and searched and finally found senior housing that has openings available at the end of July. We have kept them in a local hotel for the past three weeks and will continue to do so until the end of July or until shelter space becomes available (whichever comes sooner). They are also going to need a bed, furniture etc, We may be asking for your help next week. Please make sure any senior in your life who is considering a move to low income housing understands how few vacancies there are. To start looking early, get on waiting lists, and expect to do a lot of paperwork. Be prepared! To me, there is nothing more sad than seeing our elders out in the elements with no place to lay their heads

An increasing number of seniors now face housing insecurity In Ohio, the rate has increased by 208%.

Miss Lola was surrendered to us due to being a fall risk. We are seeking a foster home for her. She is said to be housebroken, good with other dogs, okay with most cats. If you might be able to help please contact [email protected]

Community remembers beloved Short North Tavern manager 06/20/2024

Today we attended the memorial service for a long time friend and supporter, Helen Zapol. She was a person who would help anyone or any animal in need. We first met her in 2007 when she helped us get some dogs in danger from a situation in Kansas. She later became a Hospets foster and in 2014 adopted her beloved Theo from Hospets, boy did that dog hit the jackpot. Please keep her friends and family in your thoughts as they mourn this very wonderful and special woman.

Thanks all Faithful Companion Pet Cremation is taking care of this for us

Just putting out feelers. We have a senior in Clintonville (Hartwell Rd). Her 100 # dog has died. We have called two cremation companies to have the dog picked up and cremated and have not received return calls. If they do not call back, Is there anyone in the area who would be able to get the dog and take to Rutherford Funeral Home in Worthington? It would probably take two people to lift the dog
