It’s international clown week! I’m so stinking proud of the goodness and wholesomeness real clowns bring to the world. Society tells us to be afraid of clowns… Social media does… And especially Hollywood. Critical thinking should tell us that social media opinions, and Hollywood opinions are the last people we should follow. The smile makers are behind those noses… Good clean fun is hard to find and the kids these days just really need to know it’s OK to find it. If you were in the habit of saying things like, I hate clowns I’m terrified of clowns… Maybe try to understand where that comes from… It probably isn’t actually a clown but maybe some awful movie you saw at one time, or some weird looking Clown doll that your older cousin used to tease you with… Who knows… But maybe reanalyze it because there are those of us working extremely hard to be the best clowns we can to make you smile, to make you laugh… We can’t let this fade away… It’s like losing The innocence of our people. I must’ve been told over 1000 times by people, “I’m terrified of clowns but I’m not afraid of you” guess what that means… They were not afraid of clowns after all…Also, most clowns I know are accepting gifts this week let me know if you need my address LOL

There is nothing I love more than doing the same event year after year! Watching the same families come back with their children growing and still wanting to see me is absolutely the best! This is fair week back in Waseca Minnesota, and I am missing it however my daughter Miranda is painting there this Friday and Saturday in a booth indoors! So if you are in the area please go see her :-)

This is my son Nolan… He absolutely loves to come to events with me, help me set up, carry my signs and open my doors. Nolan has autism, once the event gets started he does get a little shy and somewhat nervous but he still desires to come just to watch. If you see him at my events at my side… He loves it when you say hello. He talks about the events and the things that he saw when we get home for hours and hours. He will mention if somebody waved at him or smiled at him because it makes a big impact in his world. Sometimes you will notice Nolan wanting to hold the mirror for children when they see their face paint. Even though he may suggest to every single person they should get Spider-Man… That’s OK don’t listen to him lol :-) He just really loves the Spider-Man faces.

Super fun Christmas in July event today for a private company picnic. I love interesting tips and part of today’s tip was 6 pounds of cheese!

Painting for 5 hours in 95 degree heat is not so bad when it’s going to a good cause and the kids are as cool as these. This is a sampling of the 100plus children that I painted today:)

We have exciting news! Kelly’s daughter Sienna, who has painted as part of our team in the past… Gave birth on the Fourth of July at 42 weeks to baby Dane. 9lbs and 5 oz of baby to love! I was just setting up at a gig when I got the news that the baby was finally here after a very long multi day labor, I will admit quite a few people that were in my line got to hear how I had just become a grandma again 🙂 

I’ve been face painting for almost 18 years and I’m still always looking to try new techniques. Currently I am working on ghost roses aren’t they cool! My first attempt… Pretty big fail… But the second one has me hopeful. What are you working to improve?

We had a great time entertaining in Driggs today! What a fun group of adults and children!
