Finding Fit Andi
Finding our fit selves in all walks of life - faith, family, food and fitness - together in communit But one day I quit working out. I had no energy. Reach out.
I've always said that I exercised so I could eat what I wanted. I became an overwhelmed and tired mom of 3. I had two kids in school and a toddler at home and every single day I napped when he did. I hated wearing jeans. When I walked through the door I changed in to pajama pants or yoga pants. I was resolved to the idea that this was just going to be my life at 34 years old and beyond. Then one d
It has been too long! Life is just on a different track right now, but I must confess my back-slide and share my plan to see if you want to join me.
Teaching has thrown my exercise and eating for a loop. I know doing better will help my energy (and honestly will help me feel better in my clothes π), but Iβm not super motivated, so I would love a partner or two!
On July 16 Iβm starting a new program called Lift 4. Itβs four days a week (M, T, Th, F), 30-40 minutes a day. of lifting weights and HIIT. Iβm starting it now because I am hoping to have a routine BEFORE school starts. It costs, but you stream it on any device and do it wherever, and we keep each other on track. Anyone want to try this with me for 6-8 weeks?
Well hello there and happy new year! While I donβt take time to be on here very often, I thought a quick hello was in order. Exercise and diet have definitely become much more challenging as a teacher. I love my job, but Iβve let myself slip a bit out of shape with inconsistent movement. Iβve worked hard on eating right this fall, and now as I hit 40 (next Tuesday!), itβs time to make movement consistent again. I started all of this 5 years ago, and I know itβs never too late to start again. So, if anyone wants to join me, then let me know below. I think I might be up to having a little group for some accountability. Iβm going to stream a Beachbody program, but you do what works for you! (FYI - I no longer buy individual programs. Itβs cheaper and easier to use a Beachbody on Demand steaming subscription, and then I still drink Shakeology as part of my nutrition.) I can help you find something if you need it - again, just let me know. OH! And feel free to share. Letβs go.
Just a PSA: if you are the type of shopper who gets very hungry while shopping, and you like pickles, these are 99Β’ and AWESOME, and they don't ruin your soon-to-be lunch! It has sodium but nothing else, and it's the perfect size. Grab them in the deli meat and cheese section. Great protein snacks are hidden there, too.
Yep. Just eat the eggs. π
That is a sweaty and happy face. Why, you ask? Because I am halfway done with workouts this week. I am 2/3rds done with cardio this week (YAY!). AND this is the first time SINCE MAY that I've done three workouts in three days. Guys - in two weeks from today I will be back to classrooms full of teenagers. Getting back to this first is the only way I'll make it!
Well I succumbed to the pressure of a new program and the need for a new game for myself before school starts. I did The Shift Shop, and I didn't die. I also took before pics and also didn't die. Here's to the next three weeks. π
Anyone want to join me? I just started today. You can definitely catch up with the Magic that is Beachbody on Demand. π¬
Well, hi there! This is a general life-PSA, but soon I will get back to a few more regular fit-life PSAs. I promise.
I am in love with Chatbooks. If you are like me and have a bajillion pictures you'd like to print, but you're not a huge fan of making photo books (nor have the time to make photo books), then you have to do Chatbooks. They're inexpensive and super easy. It's all done from your phone. If you use this link, then you can get the first one FREE!

Jon Acuff really makes me laugh, and I love the idea of a little humor mixed with a little health. Check it out. (And yes - kale tastes like sadness to me, too.)
The Health List Iβm probably never going to write a book about staying in shape and eating better. But, I do have a few ideas. I ran 100 miles one month because I figured out something about exercise. I learned how to cut out some foods that were troubling to me by doing a few simple things. I also discovered thatβ¦
It was funny. Yesterday I got three or four, "Do you still do your Beachbody stuff" questions. The answer is...sort of. I still use Beachbody workouts five days a week (note the sweat). I still drink the energize pre-workout, and I still drink Shakeology daily. I don't actively pursue new clients, but I will gladly help anyone who asks as I still keep the "coach" title. I love teaching and am not looking for another career, but exercise keeps me sane in the classroom, and Shakeology helps me {sometimes} avoid snacks in the teachers' lounge. π€ And of course I always love the accountability of a friend, so if you need that too, please ask. I'm happy to help!
Small steps.
I made this tonight, and it is SUPER easy and SUPER delicious. I skipped the olives and next time I might add green chiles. Very tasty and will be added to our rotation.
I feel an explanation is a bit in order. Taking my first full time teaching job has been the occupational joy of my life, but it has also run me OVER! On the advice of good friends, I've given myself grace. It's been good, but two weeks ago I decided the grace had "expanded" a bit further than necessary, so I added back drinking enough water again. And - SHOCKER - it brought changes. HAPPY DAY! So this week I'm tackling a better food plan. I'm overwhelmed and excited because really I love this food. I mean - look at those colors!
So if you're like me and you need a little boost of encouragement, here it is. Start with water. Cut a little sugar. Eat a few more veggies. Nothing huge, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Hi there! ππΌ It's me again. I just had to share this as I would TOTALLY love it for breakfast, and I thought you might too! Okay - back to the daily grind.
I have come to love Scripture writing. I follow a plan to write a short passage each day. It helps me focus more on what I'm reading/writing, and as a result, I tend to meditate on it more throughout the day. I'm starting today (January 1 being on a Sunday really threw me!) with the January topical plan of "Courage" from a website called "Sweet Blessings." She has two different plan options and even provides both in Spanish. It's a wonderful resource! Consider joining me this year.

2016 was a big year of change for me as took on a different look and path, but I'm still here and still finding what it means to be fit in ALL walks of life. π Happy 2017. Onward.
I'm beyond terrible at goal setting, but I always love attempting it anyway! and 's materials always help.
Really good ideas on making time for the important stuff.
Read This Google Email About Time Management Strategy A Google employee teaches his colleagues how to block out interruptions and set aside "make time."
Sometimes it helps to hear it explained. Beachbody on Demand is my go-to, and now I have access to every single program from Beachbody - even the yet-to-be-released 2017 programs - all of them for $100 FOR THE YEAR. I stream them on all my devices and my TV and can do them anywhere anytime. It's better than any gym I've ever tried, and over the past four years it's the only reason I've stayed consistent - because I do it all at home. Listen in and let me know if I can help you too.
Good article on the practicality of the 80/20 lifestyle.
How the 80/20 Rule Can Improve Your Life When it comes to your health, you gotta flip the 80/20 rule and focus on that 80 percent.
Unbelievable and incredible and amazing and so many words! Just watch it.
Hotel life for the week while we fully introduce our kids to our alma mater, and today I actually managed an in-room workout with my daughter. This being the first workout for the week has nothing to do with the hotel or with the kids and everything to do with my discipline - I don't have a lot right now. But today it's done, and I'll call it a win. Now, where's lunch? π
I'm starting a focused 30 days on Monday. I'm using the new CORE DE FORCE on demand. You can use whatever you'd like or I can help you choose something. Anyone need/want to join me? Private group with daily accountability. Let me know!
I'm terrible at journaling, but it's really something I want to do better. The "Write the Word" journal has made it so easy. Each day has an assigned short scripture passage that I write in the journal. Then there is a space to write a few things I'm thankful for specifically that day, and a space for writing anything extra that I'd like (maybe even rewriting the passage.) I highly recommend it if you're looking for an easy way to get started with journaling. ββββββββββββββββββββ

I rarely ask for makeup help because I don't wear much, but I need an eyeliner (upper eyelid) that will hold through a 12-hour workday. I'd prefer it not be liquid. Whatcha got?
Priceless - not because of who we are but because of Whose we are. Our value is found in the value of the One who created us in His image. We are priceless.
Reveling in a beautiful Saturday morning - the beginning of a week-long fall break - and watching my Aggie home on College GameDay.
Random on a Friday afternoon, but I found it helpful and weirdly entertaining....
Because time lapse videos are just funny, and because today I tried the sneak peek of the new Core De Force workout. I love MMA style workouts, and this one is fast and furious. Great stuff! Happy Monday! ββββββββββββββββββββ
