The Washington Farmer-Labor Party is a left-social democratic party in the state of Washington. We advocate for a society that is cooperatively controlled and that benefits the poor. We believe in:
- high taxes on the rich, and lower to no taxes on the poor;
- public control of utilities including water, electricity, and Internet;
- a State Health Insurance Plan that will cover everyone in the St
ate of Washington for free regardless;
- the control of all industry and business by workers, rather than executives and shareholders;
- a well-paying job for all able-bodied people who need one;
- a free, public education system that allows for people to follow a path that they choose, whether that's a trade or an academic field, to the completion of a degree;
- the passage of a Washington Voting Rights Act and the passage of a Local Options bill that gives municipalities to try out a voting system that works for them, within reason; and
- the fostering of a new culture of cooperation and mutual aid between Washingtonians. We're looking for Local Organizers in every county in the State to start County Locals. Give us a message!
