Crafty Penguin Crochet

How is it possibly October already? I swear it was only August last week.
This year is flying by and cold season is approaching quickly.
I'm putting the final touches on this pattern and then it will be ready for testers, please keep an eye out for the tester call coming later this week.
I love the way the braid looks in the tw**d so I'll be making up a few more in other colours too.

It's been freezing this week 🥶 no doubt that Autumn has arrived!
My hold my hand mitten is perfect for these cold days, this lovely set was posted out earlier in the week.
This order was for a hold my hand mitten with matching easy peasy mittens in different sizes for the other hands.
Matching mittens is an option on my etsy but I was thinking that maybe I could add an option of a complementing coloured magic glove (the ones that fit most people) to keep the costs down for customers?
What do you think offer all 3 as different options?

Last one of these for the moment, moving onto other stock for the market and winter months. However I am working on this pattern to have a few variations so expect to see some tweaks and twists coming soon and also a tester call no doubt.

Yep another hold my hand mitten!! I've got a good stock made up of these now so I'm.hoping they are going to be as popular as they were last year 🤞
Good thing yarn doesn't go off so I can prep early!
I'm loving this olive green colour it's so pretty in real life.

☀️ What an absolutely beautiful days its been today, shorts and tshirt weather for sure and I'm making Hold my hand mittens!!
❄️ To be fair with the Great British weather you never know what your going to get, we had a frost on Saturday morning so you need to be prepared 🤣
✨️ This black sparkly mitten is on my etsy page now or if you'd like it send me a message, lots of prep being done for Christmas time and a few markets that I've got lined up in November.

🎄 Did you know it's only 100 days until Christmas?
I'm feeling so much more prepared this year, I've been crafting all year round to build stock so I don't get the dreaded burn out.
My hold my hand mittens were my best sellers last year, both my pattern and the finished mitten. So I've got a little stock built up in a variety of colours.
I was thinking about adding a matching mitten or maybe offering them with colour complementing magic glove to keep prices a little lower? what do you think?

🐭 How funny is this squashed mouse door stop!
I was asked to make one for a friend and I loved working it up.
🙈 I, unlike the majority of crocheters it seems, don't have a huge amount of plush chenille yarn so I winged this with double stranded DK and I love how it turned out.
I'm pleased I wrote my steps down as I have to make one for me, I'll need to get more rice first.

Yes it might only be September but I'm in full Christmas prep mode 🤣
Last year I left it quite late and then really had to work hard to get all my orders out and market prep done and honestly it really put me off crocheting, it became a chore and not enjoyable so I said I would start earlier this year and I have!
I'm mixing it up a bit and have a few projects on the go but these little Robin's are pretty adorable and I'm not sick of them.... yet!

I loved making this it's so cute. I finished it up on the way to a family day at Ingram Vally and the river backdrop was just perfect!

I won at yarn chicken!!! I didn't have much to spare which is good but the last 2 rounds were a nervous time 🤣
Anyway where are all of my Southern hemisphere friends? Its creeping into winter and my mitten is perfect for those chilly days!
To be honest you could probably get away with one here too as we had hail yesterday and it's mean to be almost summer 🤦‍♀️ Good old British weather.
It might seem crazy to be making mittens now but I'm hoping it will pay off come Winter time!

I had the pleasure of testing this pattern and you are definitely going to want to grab it, it has sizes from baby to adult and 3 different styles, and all year round narrow headband, one twist or two twists!
it really is such a fun and quick pattern to whip up, makes perfect handmade gifts! 🩷😉🙌🏻

I chose to do a two tones "wednesday" inspired headband, as I saw an advert for the new season being released later in the year!!

Here it is! The finished blanket, I was so pleased with how it turned out and the recipient was also delighted!!
I love how the border turned out and how well the colours work well together.
It's so hard to take a decent picture of the dark red though.
Anyway on to the next project a lovely little test headband.

I went with the majority and decided to add a border!
I'm so pleased I did as I think it finished it off perfectly, I did one round where I used the same yarn on each section so the edge would look neat, was it fiddly yes, was it worth it absolutely.
I'm so pleased with how it turned out, I'll show you.the finished blanket as soon as its gifted!

🐶 Isn't this little pup just the cutest!
I used my puppy lovey pattern for it and changed the ear shape (swipe to see the original pointy ears), this little golden lab had to have floppy ears and woth the edging it makes them movable, I will be adding these ears to the old pattern so if you fancy testing it for me keep your eyes peeled for the tester call coming soon!
