My lovely mother-in-law, Liz, and I gradually developed a small obsession with bunting over the past few years. It started when my daughter, Erin, was only a year old. My husband and I moved our little family to Canada from the UK for some new adventures. We bought a house with a beautiful picture window looking out onto a wooded garden. Drapes seemed too old fashioned and heavy for that beautiful
window, but Liz was insistent we needed to dress that window somehow. So I began to hang bunting for decoration instead. Between Liz and I, we have built up a collection that I can use for different occasions and seasons. Bunting is so versatile, eco friendly and just looks fab, everyone should have some to brighten up their home or garden. The decision to set up a small business while I’m enjoying being a mum to Erin happened organically a few months ago. My expectant friend, Kathryn (who is also British), told me how she wanted some bunting for her baby’s room. She didn’t want to do something as permanent as redecorating the room, so bunting was the perfect solution for turning the spare room into a cute nursery. Finding bunting made locally or in Canada was a challenge. As I made plans for Kathryn’s Baby Shower, I thought I would have a go at making some bunting myself and use it as décor for the event and then gift it to my friend for the nursery. She loved the gesture and it looks brilliant hanging in the nursery. Then I offered to make a bunting for another friend’s sister's shower. Then I made some for Liz as a mother’s day gift. And the rest - as they say - is history. My bunting addiction has turned into an addiction for beautiful fabrics, too. I enjoy making unique bunting for anyone to enjoy, so if there isn’t a bunting for you in my store, just drop me a line and we can work out what your unique fabric bunting will look like.
