The Association for Computing Machinery Chapter (ACM) of the Illinois Institute of Technology is dedicated to aiding its members in technological knowledge advancement and professional development by providing a competitive, educational, and collaborative environment. ACM at Illinois Tech is an organization that is a part of a larger culture. This culture is an environment of competition, educatio
n, mentorship, collaboration, and recruitment. Competition: Computer Science students and ACM members engage with each other and other students at inter-collegiate events and competitions. Education: ACM hosts educational workshops for skill and professional development to encourage outside-the-classroom learning, and drive inside-the-classroom collaboration. Mentorship: Upperclassmen mentor underclassmen and provide insight that was previously unheard of. Collaboration: Competition, education, or mentorship, students are put into situations where working alone is not an option. Recruitment: The development and publication of the accomplishments of our students will expose prospective students to the wholesome environment that ACM, the Department of Computer Science, and Illinois Tech aim to provide.
