On June 22, 2014, nine drum corps will compete in the 35th annual Moonlight Classic at Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College, Sacramento, California. Competing corps can include up to 150 youths, ages 8-21, comprised of marching percussion and brass, front ensemble (vibraphones, marimbas and other percussion instruments), and color guard. The color guard component has evolved from merely carrying the flag to now include dance and props such as rifles, sabers and other specialty items.
