Very much looking forward to performing at St Mark's in July and trying out their new piano!
Very much enjoying visiting
these songs again! It’s been a real voyage of discovery with them, from William’s daughter, Julia Busch introducing me to his songs at Ludlow English Song Weekend, through to performing them for the first time at The London Song Festival , debuting them at The Red House, Aldeburgh and finally recording them for Lyrita. I’ve been honoured to be the first singer to perform William’s cycle, ‘There have been happy days’, a very special group of songs that encapsulate so many feelings about the impact of War on those left behind.
Here's a summary of my upcoming concerts, near and far over the next month - hope to see some of you there!
March 14th - Verdi's Requiem, Barbican Centre, City of London Choir with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, cond. Hilary Davan Wetton.
March 18th - An Evening of Favourite Opera & Song - Fundraising concert at St Michael's Church, Beccles, with John Reid, piano
March 25th - Bach's St Matthew Passion, Tewkesbury Abbey, Cheltenham Bach Choir, cond. David Crown
April 2nd - Recital - William Busch & Friends - Park Lane Chapel Concerts, Norwich
April 15th - Elgar's Sea Pictures & The Music Makers, Leith Hill Music Festival, Southern Pro Musica, cond. Jonathan Willcocks

Hi all, alongside my professional commitments, I'm keen to support singers based within my local area in my local area (East Suffolk/Waveney/East Norfolk.) I'm happy to offer two places for singers to develop their vocal skills, be it for personal enjoyment, solo performances, ensemble or choral singing, or just in the bath or shower! I can also offer small workshops and performance opportunities.

It was spending a week singing John Rutter’s Requiem, aged 16, as part of Suffolk Jubilee Choir, followed by a performance at Snape Maltings, that made me realise that singing and performing HAD to be a major part of my future. I got to meet him on Saturday, when we brought him to Lowestoft to present one of his ‘Come & Sing’ Days with 250 local singers.

I'm delighted to say that my performance Masterclass/Workshop with pianist-extraordinaire, John Reid, is now sold out. John and I have worked together as a duo for over 20 years and I can honestly say that he is one of the finest accompanists I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
This all-day class, designed to help polish and improve performance skills, will be held at St Mark's Church in Oulton Broad on Saturday 27 August from 9:30 onwards, with an informal concert at the end, to help raise funds for a new piano at the church.
Places on the course are now fully booked but observer tickets are available, which include food and drink throughout the day, for £20.

I'm so looking forward to singing at Snape Maltings Concert Hall on 23 April - place of my first major musical experiences with Suffolk Youth Orchestra and Suffolk Jubilee Choir. The experiences that inspired me to choose music as a career. But also, the venue for some of the performances that have shaped my career. AND to be singing a programme of Elgar masterpieces, including Sea Pictures…Can't wait!
