Join our incredible team of volunteers at Front of House to check-in, seat, greet, and sell merch to our fabulous audience! This is a fun and rewarding way to get involved in Fluid Movement. Plus all Front of House volunteers will receive a free t-shirt from one of our past shows! We also have limited logo shirts and tank tops you can choose from. All volunteers will also be able see the show they are volunteering for! That means once the audience is checked in, you are free to go find yourself a seat/spot and enjoy the show!

Fluid Movement is looking for friends to shake their flippers with June 11 & 13 at the National Aquarium in the harbor. It is a very fun event that requires a costume, smile, and your own moves. Fill out the form if interested and available.

We're still very excited about our final week of Moves & Grooves at Callowhill Aquatic Center (2821 Oakley Ave) THIS SATURDAY (May 18); however, please be aware that Preakness is happening at the same time, and there are some road closures in the area. The Bromo Art Walk is happening this Thursday, May 16th from 5-9 PM. Fluid Movement will be opening its doors, hosting some silly faux carnival sports games, and talking about this year's water ballet! We’ll be hosting a painting and crafting day this Wednesday, May 8th from 6-8 PM at Fluid Movement HQ (303 W Monument Street) to get ready for the Bromo Art Walk happening next week. You can help us paint a fake dart board, attempt to make a pin the swim cap on the swimmer party game, craft a mouth for some teeny hot dog cars, jazzify a ribbon dancing station, and MORE! We’ll probably order some pizza, play some tunes, and make some fun stuff together!

Registration is now open for our spring session of Moves & Grooves. The spring session will be on Saturdays from 1-2:30 PM at Callowhill Aquatic Center (2821 Oakley Ave) from April 27th through May 18th.

These sessions are drop-in style classes where anyone can come in and learn some synchronized swimming basics and put it all together in a mini routine set to music. No experience synchronized swimming or with Fluid Movement is required; however, these classes do take place primarily in the deep end of the pool.

Fluid Movement Junior sign-ups for the 2024 water ballet are now open!!

The FM Junior Scene will present “Artistic Leap Frogger" and will feature performers swimming and dancing as any color frog they want along side floating lily pad props! Music will include the Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight", Nelly Furtado and Flo Rida's "Jump" (Radio Disney edit), and Henry Belafonte's "Jump in the Line" as well as some of the frogger theme from the classic video game.

The FM Junior scene is for young people aged 9-14+, who are strong swimmers and want to be a part of a fun show. The kid’s scene will be rehearsing on Monday through Thursday for two weeks, July 8th-18th from 10 AM – 11:30 PM at Roosevelt Pool (3500 Poole Street, Baltimore, MD 21211).

An all cast tech rehearsal will take place on Saturday, July 20th (from approximately 1 PM - 5 PM) with 3-4 weeknight rehearsals July 22nd – August 1st (location and time TBD). Water ballet shows will be July 27 and 28 and August 3 and 4. Show pools TBD.

Attendance at all rehearsals, tech day (July 20), and all shows is required. Additionally, swimmers are required to purchase a base costume (typically a swimsuit that costs around $30). If you require financial assistance for costumes, Fluid Movement happily offers that!

Fluid Movement is revving up for our 2024 Water Ballet, and we’re ready to announce the theme, recruit some directors, and fill a ton of open roles!!

Fluid Movement is going for gold, silver, and bronze this summer! So ride, run, surf, serve, or pitch to this summer’s “Splash Games: A Water Ballet of Imaginary Sports,” a riff on the Olympic games happening this year but where every sport is a totally not real, made-up sport and we all get medals! So let’s light our opening ceremony torch, and let the games begin! We can’t wait to ski you there!

This year, we want to give our directors a chance to shape this show before it’s written, so instead of assigning directors to specific scenes, we will be accepting scene pitches for all of the synchronized swimming scenes in the show. Directing is open to anyone and everyone, and we want our directors’ imaginations to run wild!

A Fluid Movement water ballet only exists because of the incredible people that dedicate their time, labor, and skills to make it happen! This year we’re trying something new (OooOo) by formalizing some of the many, many roles required to make the water ballet, and we really need our community to step up and fill these Open Roles. Fluid Movement is tickled pink to be performing Color Wheels, a pop-up roller skating performance, this weekend at . So don't be green with envy; come on down to the Charles Street Parking Garage (1714 N Charles St) on Friday evening or mid-day Saturday and Sunday and check out this incredible performance by the super talented April Pink and a fabulous installation of illuminated sculptures from Scott Pennington that make up The Blinkatorium. Don't miss out or you will be blue!
