Scourge Songs - Nebula Ensemble - Loretta K. Notareschi 12/01/2024

Very happy to announce the release today of my Scourge Songs, five songs about the pandemic on poetry by Alyse Knorr. The Nebula Ensemble recorded the piece last summer at Mighty Fine Productions with Loren Dorland and Colin Bricker as engineers. Chris Carboni produced the video. Catherine Flinchum, Josh Goo, Sarah Perske, Russ Callison, Arlo Adams, and Kevin McFarland perform. You can find it on the usual platforms (though it hasn't quite loaded on Spotify yet), but I think it's especially engaging to see the video, linked below. Many thanks to Regis University and Maryalice Jordan-Marsh and David Marsh for supporting the production.

Join the Regis University Department of Fine and Performing Arts for a keynote discussion by artist, educator, and physicist Enrique Martínez Celaya. This keynote is brought to you as part of the department's Inspired Thinkers Series.
An exhibition of Celaya's work will be on display in the O’Sullivan Gallery Oct. 16 – Nov. 13. Join us for an opening reception 5-7 p.m., Oct. 25.
Enrique Martínez Celaya has pursued a singular vision through painting, sculpture, installation, video, photography, poetry, and prose. His work examines the complexities and mysteries of individual experience and explores the question of authenticity revealed in the friction between personal imperatives, social conditions, and universal circumstances. This lecture will offer an overview of the artist's work and concerns, influenced by and in dialog with literature and philosophy. It will include a particular emphasis on developing a practice.
About the Inspired Thinker's Series:
The Inspired Thinker's Series offers unique Arts-focused opportunities and experiences every two years. For this event, the Department of Fine and Performing Arts invites one inspiring artist, creator, and/or thinker (a musician, a performer, a visual artist, other creatives, or a researcher who focuses on the arts). Whatever their area of focus, they are INSPIRING! They change lives and change the world. This year, we are pleased to offer Regis University students, faculty, staff, and community members the opportunity to experience the art, practice, and words of artist, writer, and former physicist Enrique Martínez Celaya.
