Hangar 18 Media is gearing up for a number of projects for 2022 and 2023, and we are looking for the perfect individual to work with us on a full time basis as a Development & Production Coordinator.

This job would be suitable for someone who aspires to become a producer one day, and is looking for an opportunity to learn and grow with an up and coming production company.

We are a small outfit, however we tend to keep very busy. Our domain is horror genre. We have produced 7 films since the start of the pandemic. One of the films, V/H/S/94 - went on to become Shudder’s most watched film in the history of the platform.

The job will consist of two parts - Development & Production.

During the PRODUCTION - prep or principal photography on a project, this won’t be different from what a regular Production Coordinator duties are:
- Keeping the production schedule
- Coordinating prep meetings, casting sessions, etc
- Coordinating cast travel & contracts, crew paperwork, work reports, time sheets, schedules, catering, pickups - all that good stuff

When we are in between productions - DEVELOPMENT - this person would work to assist the producers of future projects and be involved in early prep for projects that are next in line.

This may involve anything from preliminary location scouting to creation of preliminary schedules, script breakdowns, budget versions, various financing documents, grant & funding applications; as well as reporting for past productions; organizing and creating minutes of early meetings with creative teams; legal/document delivery of completed projects…. I cannot possibly list everything here - the most important is that you will be learning all that we producers are doing when we are not filming :)

This would be a full-time position, 40 hours per week when we are between productions and increasing to something closer to 60 hrs/week when we are in principal photography.

The rate of pay is negotiable, based on pre-existing experience and our interview, but will be around $20/hr.

While this is very much an office-based job, we are all currently working from our homes, and for the near future this is likely to remain that way. Our actual office is located on the border of Toronto & Mississauga - we are sharing the space with a boutique post production house PurpleDOG Post:
