This was created alongside my students to show them the printmaking steps. I did a run of 8, and although I like them, if I were to do this scene again, the sky would be a lighter blue and the wind/cloud lines would be grey.

Tried the same corn field twice - in the first attempt, I added foliage to the trees when I didn't like my branches. In the 2nd attempt, I left the branches bare, as in the reference photo, and the stormy, windy autumn day seemed to come through a little more.

Always an admirer of Monet - I was reminded of his poppy field painting when I saw the huge field of poppies and wild flowers at Flye point, Maine last weekend. I took out my largest canvas and just started blocking in the base colors of the field.
