Happy Juneteenth to all my Cuzzos in Texas! 🇨🇱 . Although I acknowledge the "purpose and meaning" of Juneteenth for Texans, I also recognize that the Ancestors of Randolph County, Missouri had their own Emancipation celebration. I've spent copious hours researching this topic, collecting hundreds of newspaper articles, and have created a collection for you to keep as a keepsake to share with generations to come. 📚📰

As a young girl, I recall Moberly being "turned over" to the so-called "Blacks" or Negroes to host what seemed like a huge family reunion. So many people would come to town, and "colored" folks would be everywhere—at the municipal auditorium, the park, the gas stations, all throughout town. I didn't understand at the time what was happening; all I knew was that it was party time, and we could stay up all night. 🌙🎊 I remember the atmosphere, and it really felt like EVERYONE was family! 👨👩👧👦❤️
These memories inspired me to embark on the journey of documenting a time in history that has been lost or forgotten. 🌟📖

Halito! Peace and Grand Rising! 🌞 Just sharing some thoughts on Dr. King's B'earthday! Every year, many reflect on Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech, where he emphasized not being judged by the color of our skin. Interestingly, this speech seems particularly popular among those who don't resemble him. Personally, I prefer the statement he made a few years later when he realized that HIS American dream wasn't necessarily shared by those in control.
Dr. King came to understand that promises were just that... promises! Today, we witness what our Great-Great Grandparents did: the plan to displace the Original landowners, open borders for others to assume our identity AGAIN, and eventually claim our land. Our Ancestors saw the Government handing out money and land incentives to immigrants, land that was swindled from them.
Genealogy research, not DNA testing nonsense, reveals the truth. 🏹 Dr. King stated, "100 years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself in exile in his own land." So, how am I celebrating Dr. King's remembrance? Well, I'm not attending any parades, protests, church services or memorials. I am not lighting a candle, nor am I saying a prayer. I am spending the day researching my family tree, because I am tired of being lied to, and still feeling like what Dr. King said, "exiled in my own land!" 🪶🪶🪶👆👆👆
