Twisted Wrecks is the title track off of my first EP, re-imagined here for two guitars. @brianobroin5531 joins me for this one at his home studio and lends his fabulous guitar playing which adds lovely depth and dimension to the winding melody. The song sets the scene - two lovers at a cross-roads in their relationship and one says 'darling you're the love of my life ... all I want to be is your wife' at which he realises that he is no longer in love - or at least as in love as he once was. The final verse is from the perspective of the scorned and heartbroken woman as her (now) ex is packing up his belongings and leaving her. I came across the song via Cork legend Freddie White in my teens and dreamt of one day being able to do it justice. Gypsy Moth is a gorgeous song that paints vignettes of American life; a man drawn to his lover like a moth to a flame, Rambling Jack who never seems to have any luck, government corruption, and a passing raccoon that listens in wonder at the joy and revelry of a community. Truly a wonderful piece that I will always come back to and I hope you will too.
