Last year GCFD received a grant to help purchase necessary safety equipment. With the support of the City of Grove City, Acton, Danielson, Swede Grove, and Union Grove townships along with our grant we were able to purchase 15 new self contained breathing apparatusess (SCBAs) and 45 minute tanks. Thank you to Scott from Clareys Safety Equipment for being so great to work with. We are excited to put these into service.

We had another successful training day this morning. We would like to express our gratitude to the homeowner for allowing us to train on your property. Thank you to Scott and the team at Customized Fire Rescue Training Inc. and the Atwater Fire Department for joining in on all the fun.

Public Announcement: Grove City Fire Department will be hosting a live burn Saturday morning with neighboring departments. The location will be just south of town on county road 11. Don't be alarmed if you see lots of smoke, that just means we're hard at work and getting down and dirty. 🚒

Grove City Fire Department will be selling burgers, tacos in a bag, and nachos this Saturday at the Minnesota Beer Company starting at noon

Reminder that the sirens will sound today at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM for the statewide tornado drill.

Don't forget to celebrate Smokey the Bears birthday tomorrow at the Grove City Public Library

Another Holiday Supper is in the books. Thank you to all of our city council members, township board members, current, and past fire fighters for joining us last night. We would also like to thank Mr. Knudson for leading us in prayer prior to the meal being served. A special thank you to Manannah Hilltop Tavern for hosting and the delicious meal.

Thank you to the members of Grove City Fire Department and Grove City Rescue Squad for everything you do to serve our community. We would also like to extend our appreciation for our neighboring first responders.

Don't forget to bring your ghouls and goblins to the fire hall for trick or treating 🎃

Did we mention that we are also doing a bike giveaway Thursday night for Fire Prevention week? Don't forget to stop down at the Fire Hall this Thursday from 5-7 PM 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

Tomorrow, Friday, September 15, is our MN Fallen Heroes Football Game
(NLS vs. Dassel-Cokato).
Leading up to the game we have some special events planned including a tailgating event that begins at 5pm. The Dassel-Cokato team will arrive between 5-5:15 via a motorcycle and fire department es**rt. *Thank you to Grove City Fire Department, Atwater Fire Department, Kandiyohi Fire Department & First Responders, Spicer Fire Department and the New London Fire Department NLFD as well as the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 48-3 for participating in this es**rt!

The MN Fallen Heroes program will begin at 6:25 PM. We have 20 local fallen heroes who are being honored. During the game, you will hear these heroes' names called out as NLS & DC players represent them for the night.

More than a game, a bond these players will never forget.
Our Wildcats wanted to do something special for the families of their heroes...so they worked to get nametags of their heroes for their jerseys which will later be given to the Gold Star families. Thank you to Rambow for helping our seniors with this very special project!
