COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - THE DR CHIRA SECRET

An opinion poll conducted by an independent body, UDALA Consults, has shown that the habit of constant and consistent community engagement over the years is the secret that has endeared Dr Uzochukwu Chira, Labour Party's flag bearer to represent Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency at the FEDERAL House of Representatives to the hearts of Ndi Oyi/Ayamelum Constituency.

While over 84 per cent of the respondents drawn from communities in Oyi/Ayamelum were emphatic about their choice of Dr Chira. Their reason being the countless medical outreach and empowerment programs his foundation, Chira Foundation, has carried out in communities within Oyi/Ayamelum. 96 per cent of the respondents were of the view that Dr Chira is a people's person who always makes himself available at relevant gatherings to listen to the people's priority needs.

It is also worthy of note that Dr Uzochukwu Chira has continued to set up platforms where young people from Oyi/Ayamelum are productively engaged, mentored and empowered to be functional and contributory members of their society.

What a man!

Imagine what such a man can do with the Federal Constituency mandate.

It's with a heart laden with loads of grief and sorrows that I write to you this morning.
Saddened and burdened with the heaviest emotional trauma, I'm in deep pains over the flood deluge that is ravaging our communities and farmlands.
I'm in tears over the sources of livelihood and wealth which we've lost in the inferno.
I'm in pains, deep pains and great agony!
My greatest agony lies in the knowledge that none of our acclaimed representatives in the government has taken any responsibility to advocate for our plight to the government and to the world.
IT IS PREPOSTEROUS!

But,
We will not all hang limp as if we are all dead.
There MUST be a brighter and more productive landscape after the floods.
There's life and there's a greater tomorrow as we move from here because, THE SUN WILL SHINE ACROSS THE RIVER.

Hopefully and assuredly, we must ensure that we will in 2023, seek greater synergy with the Federal Executive Government of Peter Obi, the State Government, the UNICEF, the World Bank, the European Union, the African Union and other humanitarian global agencies, even if it will cost us the greater part of our blood, to employ all the Legislative and Diplomatic instruments at our disposal to make the world know that Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, and indeed, the coastline of the maritime biomes of Nigeria should not be exposed to such disaster again, because we didn't commit any crime against nature or against humanity.

Once again, let us all be consoled, take courage and have the good faith for 2023 maka na OUR FUTURE IS NOW OUR COLLECTIVE CONCERN!!!

Umunne m na Ndi Nwe m,

The most important developments in science, history, technology, the arts, as well as politics and leadership came from taking (calculated) risks.
For Mr Peter Obi to weigh many odds and leave his former political party to the new one so as to achieve his great purpose is a perfect example of good calculated risk.
If we refuse to test our limits or move out of our comfort area or shy away from taking good risks, then we should be ready and prepared to live forever in the envelope.
This is part of the Gospel of the New Revolution!

This time, we should not be talking about sharing money, Who has the greater amount of money to give us?, Onye ebee ka o bu?, Which family is he from?, Am I sure that if I follow/vote for him he will win?, If he should win, what can he do for me?, and all other sentimental errors which have formed a greater part of our body politics all these years.

This time around, our interest on our candidates for the forthcoming General Elections, should be on going for the BEST and what he/she stands for.

Legislative Governance is all about advocacy.
The reason why the system of the legislative arm of government is poorly understood in our Nigerian society today is because the process of legislature and it's modus operandi has not been fully explored.

Legislative work broadly involves lawmaking, oversight functions of the executive arm of government and advocacy for the people.

The Parliament is the greatest vehicle for social engineering and we must deploy our legislative instruments/opportunities to construct better economic, academic, social and political structures of the citizens and tenants living Oyi and Ayamelum Local Government Areas, and also for Nigerians generally in 2023.

In 2023 God willing, we will be bringing the full details and dividends of the Legislative Arm of Government to our people if elected.
Our people will start enjoying the full benefits of having an Honourable member in the House of Representatives!
