West Side Community Land Trust, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, has been created by neighbors to organize and empower the West Charlotte community (zip codes: 28208, 28214, 28216, 28217) to preserve and develop their neighborhoods to the benefit of low income residents as well as the neighborhoods as a whole in the face of rapid reinvestment and subsequent displacement of long-time residents.
You're invited to West Side CLT's Juneteenth Jubilee! Join us in west Charlotte's Lakeview community at the homesite for the preserved and reclaimed historic shotgun homes as we celebrate their history and future- Juneteenth liberation style.
Featuring an afro-futurism exhibit highlighting the past, present, and future of black housing and black life, as well as live drumming, a drum circle, and a Juneteenth inspired menu- you won't want to miss it!

We have BIG NEWS! 120 units of permanently affordable senior living is on it's way to the west side! Together with community members and a host of partners and friends, we were able to preserve the historic Nathaniel Carr site both now and in perpetuity. Thank you Bank of America for being our very first contributor to the Nathaniel Carr Campaign, and for supporting our work so generously!
