We want to express our most sincere thanks to the residents and visitors of Teton Valley who stopped to Fill The Boot. We raised just over 15,000.00 last Saturday. We are grateful to those who donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Look for these signs this Saturday, Aug 3rd. We are raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Teton county firefighter’s Local 4667 are so happy to support them in their endeavor to do research and support families who are living with this disease.

TCFR responded to a report of a grass fire on the edge of Felt, this evening. This photo captures the essence of the firefighting efforts going on across the western U.S. There are currently 95 large fires being managed nationally with 28,000 firefighters deployed. As of today, 4,450,000 acres have burned. We still have several weeks of fire activity. Please use caution when outdoors with any potential sources of ignition.

We know that the awesome residents and visitors of Teton valley will be there to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We are so thankful for you.

Filling the Boot finances research aimed at finding a cure for muscular dystrophy.

In 2023, fire fighters raised over $11 million at more than 1,030 Fill the Boot events to fund MDA’s mission including funding research, care, and advocacy to empower the lives of MDA families.

What is Muscular Dystrophy?

In muscular dystrophies, abnormal genes (mutations) lead to muscle degeneration. Most forms begin in childhood.

Damaged muscles become progressively weaker. Most people who have the condition eventually need a wheelchair. Other symptoms include trouble breathing or swallowing.

Medications, therapy, breathing aids, or surgery may help maintain function, but life span is often shortened.

A huge thank you to Teton County Sheriff's Office for helping ensure our firefighters safety while working on the roadways so frequently this month.

We’ve responded to 3 serious accidents (at least 2 fatal) on Highway 33 in the last 10 days and a recent fatality on Teton Pass. These types of calls take their toll on our community. Please drive with caution as summer traffic is at its peak and please yield to first responders.

Rash of serious accidents on Highway 33 stuns community Over the last two weeks, Highway 33 has seen three serious accidents, with multiple people critically injured and, at the time of publication, two fatalities.

TCFR sent E-612 (wildland engine) early this morning with 4 of our members to support the Becky Peak Fire burning near Ely, NV. We’re wishing them a safe and successful deployment.
