This will presentation on "The Unexpected Lives of Insects" by Jonathan Balcombe, author is going to be so cool in the mix of releases alongside Dr Milton Rene Mills talk on Flowers and Lee Hall's talk on the Anthropocene. Some of these were a lot more tedious to cut because some of these rooms didn't offer a way for me to tap into the projector to grab the powerpoint/keynote. So, I have to manually work the slides in... Anywho, almost caught up enough to schedule publishing content to release while I'm on the next run...

When Knowledge Becomes Wisdom; Just because I can, should I?; Diamonds & Dairy, Pia 08/08/2024

I loved this town SO MUCH, the people, the food, so chill, smaller than my s*** town yet somehow a million times better vibes with so many incredible vegan options from restaurants to a kava bar to a soup kitchen to an awesome veg fest and juxtaposed to Maharishi Vedic City and some of the sweetest, coolest people you could ever meet like Pia, co-owner of Mira's Cafe πŸ’šπŸ’ͺπŸ’š

From Ignorant Vegetarian to Educated Radicalized Vegan: Chrissy Benson 07/08/2024

Only releasing two this week. Released this one yesterday, Chrissy Benson, who lives in Nashville, TN which brings back lots of memories. I'm stoked to know there's some nice vegan options there. Even in or near the old parking garage I depended on every visit to broadway back in the day. Actually, I just looked, there appears to be multiple options right there.

Chrissy's got all kinds of skills from being a lawyer to counselor to author to running the Vegan Posse Podcast. Another one from the Farb family experience :)

Reversed Diabetes: Chemical Engineer to Restaurateur; Veganism Changed My Life, Dr Rahul Bharadwaj 02/08/2024

Today's release, another diabetes reversal story also in part due to the work of Dr Neal Barnard of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine . I must say, this restaurant was so good and the owners are so sweet and amazing, even the community there was really resonating with me, I could definitely see myself eating at this restaurant several days every week. I almost want to say it was the best food I've ever had! Mira's Cafe πŸ’šπŸ’ͺπŸ’šπŸ™ within a community like this, I could totally live in Iowa! It's amazing it's smaller than where I currently live and has profoundly more healthy options going on. It just goes to show that so much can happen despite the size of a town. Thank you so much Rahul for letting me take up so much of your time to capture your story and get it in the mix!

A LOT easier than I thought: Diabetes Testimony; Mary Ann 01/08/2024

This one was fun to squeeze into the mix impromptu. I arrived a little early to prepare to video Dr Neal Barnard, of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, doing a talk. This wonderful woman also arrived early to thank him for his life-saving work. I couldn't help but overhear their conversation. I couldn't help but notice how sweet Dr Neal Barnard was listening so patiently and spending so much time talking to her. He wanted to get a picture so I offered to take it for them. He was also showing her how to hold a phone if she wants to video herself sharing her story, he was encouraging her to do this to help others. Well I had a little run and gun quasi studio set up in one of the vacant rooms where I was staying next door. So I had to offer videoing her story quick to help get it out there. You may even see this being shared on PCRM as well. You can get Reversing Diabetes here via my affiliate link: https://amzn.to/4c7MT88

After a series of quick run and gun interviews with various restaurants I wanted to finish the week off with a long form super fun one with Christopher, owner of the most tasty Unburger Grill in Dearborn Michigan.

I ate here three times in 2 days and was hoping to go back at least one or two more times but just didn't have enough time, had to keep rolling :(

Giving Back to the Community: Herban Vegans; Restaurant in Ohio, Danielle Delaine 23/07/2024

Today's release, ulcerative colitis resolved, another restaurant started out of a healing journey and wanting to give back to the community :) I did this interview soooo last minute. This was nearing the end of an extremely long day of driving of driving and not knowing where I was going to end up sleeping. I was able to get there about 15 minutes before they closed. I had no idea it was another success story. So I was stoked that I took a detour to get Danielle of Herban Vegans in the mix!

When I was en route to interview Leilani, vegan mother of two vegan from birth, she recommended I stop by this restaurant. So glad I did. The salad was super solid. In my interview with Glen Merzer I like it when he says "When you take 10 pounds of food in the form of grain and come out with 1 pound of non-food in the form of meat, that's not really farming, they're not creating. Farmers should be people who create food. These are people who cost us food. They're reducing our food supply. How is that farming?".

Hall of Fame Award 2024 Mother of Lifelong Vegan; Incredible Activist Victoria Moran 18/07/2024

I love what Victoria says about not being able to raise a child on eating animals :) It really fits the theme of content I'll soon be transitioning into.

I interviewed Victoria Moran several years ago, in the first run of interviews I did like this starting around late 2020, early 2021. At the time I had just purchased some new cameras to interview Dr Garth Davis on the regular. But, he ended up moving. Then the book Vegan Voices with 50 different authors by Dr Kong was being released. Dr Kong asked me to be in it and I asked if I could interview the authors. So I found a way to keep using the new cameras. For this presentation though I'm using my older cameras for a few reasons... If there's a next time I might use my newer cameras.

I already had momentum in the movement doing live videos. Doing interviews was an entirely different thing. The timing was perfect to start off since flying was cheap doing the peak of COVID ;). Victoria was in the book Vegan Voices so I made my way to her place in New York near the end of that run. I was so excited to hear that her daughter is vegan from birth. I've been wanting to do a special interview with her daughter since.

I had no idea Victoria was going to receive the Vegan Hall of Fame award. I wasn't even thinking about videographing it to be honest because I wasn't sure if I was aloud to honestly. But, I was able to get permission last minute so I went with it.

Unfortunately the audio feed I was allowed to tap into was extremely dirty. I was soooo frustrated trying to get clean audio that I almost didn't shoot anything. I was using my wireless Sennheiser XLR plugin's. I tried two different ones, different receivers, different frequencies, different outputs, they were all dirty.

Fortunately I was able to clean up doctor Greger's Q&A I released yesterday really easy. The audio for this presentation was a lot more challenging. So, I'm glad to have it out of the can and in the mix. For some reason my atomos didn't stay connected to grab the keynote that was being projected. So, I had to manually work that in today.

If I would have been able to anticipate this better and knowing what I know about the venue and options now I would use my own lav system. I did this with the rest of the talks I shot in this room. And I would have had my heavier tripod for such a long shot. And I would have used another camera focused on the hall of fame recipient, like I did with Dr. Greger's Vegan Hall of Fame award ceremony. And instead of videoing the recipient with my phone like I did with Victoria I would use a real camera...

Anywho, there's a lot to love about this video. It really brings out some emotions in me. So, I'm super stoked I captured this!

Q&A with Dr Greger at Vegan Summerfest 2024 17/07/2024

Decided last minute today would be a good day to release Dr. Michael Greger fans - How Not To Die of NutritionFacts.org Q&A at Vegan Summerfest since he references tomorrow in the video. And it lines up well with everything else I'm releasing..
https://youtu.be/zdX2QM7udKU

Because all this was impromptu I didn't use my new cameras and really could have had a better flow across this event with a little more coordination with the event. But, it's fun nonetheless... :)

I also cut together a really cool testimonial from a lady who reversed her diabetes, T2D, with the help of Dr Barnard's book, Reversing Diabetes https://amzn.to/3SbKNwQ I'm looking forward to releasing that one and sharing more later.

I was so excited that I made it on time for lunch I didn't take a picture. But, I made it! I wasn't sure if I would want to video a whole lot today, or really a whole lot at this event. But, I did manage to video Juliana Turner, the wife of Paul Rodney Turner who I interviewed last year but haven't released yet. They have a son vegan from birth and a daughter who is vegan also. Juliana did a talk about educating children about veganism, in Columbia at least. Got it cut up already too.

To prepare for this trip I got a bunch of videos scheduled for release on the channel last night too. Those are the "members only" videos until they're published. This week will be Judy Carman, then next week Maad Ghazalah, then I'll start releasing interviews with restaurants every day until I get all those out, except for the long ones; those being Christopher with Unburger, Rahul & Pia with Mira's which will be end of week releases. :)

Anywho, now the question is, will I be able to sleep in here? Someone is extremely happy in the hallway, Milton isn't back from the Plenary. I mean, there he is behind me in the picture right before he left... Oh, and I shaved at 3 am this morning before I left. I got tired of people looking at me like I'm homeless... But, I kind of miss it meow :(

10/07/2024

Alrighty off to my next run! 8-Hour drive to my destination. Hopefully I'll make it in time for lunch. Only It is a narrow 30 minute window! And my ETA lands me there 15 minutes early, It's going to be tight! Hopefully I'll be able to find a gas station/ bathroom/ Starbucks all in one location halfway there... Vegan Summerfest here I come!

Mic the Vegan: Vegan Diet reversing Alzheimer's Disease? 08/07/2024

Neato, I just stumbled on a video released an hour ago from one of my favorite channels Physionic. Well, I didn't expect it but Physionic gave a shout out to me in his video! πŸ’š

How this Hunter is Vegan & Rescues Animals; Hunter's Thoughts @emptycages4296 05/07/2024

Straight up about hunting, today's release https://youtu.be/82zbuPJ8T80 . Last hunting season was the worst in the history of social media, from my experience at least. So, I was stoked to capture this story. He's also expecting to be a father which fits perfectly with the core focus of what I'm focusing on most moving forward, raising children vegan.

This was about the 28th interview out of 33 I did on that 2.6 week run of traveling around 3K miles. So I was pretty beat by this point. But, glad I got'r done!

This interview makes a nice shift from the topic of horses last week. Next will be fish and dogs or a longtime influencer who also grew up in a home of hunters.

Then a half dozen or so of interviews with restaurant owners. One of which was inspired by her dog and experienced health benefits. And the rest of the restaurants are almost entirely success stories like cancer, MS, MG, PCOS, diabetes, etc... Then finally transition back into what I was originally focusing on this year, raising children vegan... :)

I hope this rough cut was sufficient. I don't proof the videos, just rough cut. If the interviewee wants to they have a chance. I have so much to cut I've never really had time to. Anywho, another down many more to go...

Photos from Vegan Walk's post 28/06/2024

Woohoo, finally muscled through this interview. Adobe started acting up AGAIN, this time locking up. I was able to troubleshoot it on my own! I had to re-recreate my workspace, crazy, lost about an hour.... but tackled that B!t . Rendering meow, hope it's good enough. Got a few other ones done this week. But, re-rendering at least one of those once I get caught up, they were shorter... Oh, except Unburger, that one took a day to cut for sure. I'm glad to get Maad's out of the way since it is a longer one. These will be great to release sooner than later.

Got my oil changed and car inspected for another run of sorts. Had to go out of town yesterday to do that, Shelby was booked up. Fixed my phone while I was there, screen protector saved my Pixel 8 when I was running crazy in Wilmington, fortunately the protector was under warranty! :) Finally, Best Buy is good for something...

Washed my car for the first time in over a year, maybe a year and a half! It was crazy cruddy :) I'm kind of excited to drive it tomorrow now :)

All geared up for something different. Going to video someone's story, only about a 4 hour drive... I've already interviewed this person. But, they want to do something more elaborate. So it'll be interesting to see if this can turn into something unique enough to justify their desire for something more...

It's a bit rushed, which isn't ideal, last minute really, but I'm use to it... It reminds me of when I did a 48 hour film project because just like that we start this Friday night and I'm going to try and be done by Sunday night. But, instead of pulling together a huge team of very honed in pros for the 48 hr film project, well, it's just me :( I mean, not entirely just me, the person I'm shooting and their assistant will be there too. But, no one with production experience. It would be so cool to get someone to direct and/or co-direct, someone for lighting, storyboarding, script supervisor, makeup, help with editing, the score, etc...

Hopefully the traffic wont be a beast. Going to Hotlanta, I mean Atlanta three nights I think. First stop, probably a vegan lunch somewhere... where or where will that be... I might try Full Taste Vegan. I'm not really into the idea of Slutty Vegan, I hear it's just long waits for overpriced impossible or beyond or something...

And I wonder if I should put out some feelers for some interviews while I'm on this trip... hmmm.... Still trying to feel out if I'm not squishing myself to death juggling so much to cut. And this trip is so unique I may need to stay focused until it's done. I'm so curious how I'll feel come Sunday night, maybe Monday morning...

Alrighty, time to crash, dang it gets late too fast!

25/06/2024

At least this person is honest I suppose... Crazy, just crazy. It's hard to believe people are this out of control and stuck in stupid mode. I would rather give up years of my life instead of resorting to such mindless barbaric nonsense. Fortunately my predilection is in my favor.

This makes me think of a couple of people I talked to recently both of which said when they are hungry they'll eat anything, they just don't care. At the time I didn't think to say, I hope you don't behave this way in other ways, like when you're h***y you'll f*** anything even if it involves r**e. The appeal to scarcity fallacy is so out of touch with reality and inconsistent with morality. And being surrounded by so much indifference, I'm just not sure how much more of it I can handle. I can see why Gary Yourofsky retired...
