The Office of the Treaty Commissioner understands there is a lot of confusion and questions around the Treaty Agricultural benefits, so we put together this Q&A to help navigate it.

What a great deed 👌 👏 👍

Hello Tri community! We are aware of the situation the town has decided to stop the funding for the scattered sites program. This is a devastating blow to the homeless people of our Tri community. We don’t get to see much of the homeless population in our location in air ronge. But we want to help our locals as much as we can. With that in mind , We will take the active approach. Go out and do something … help in any way possible. Plenty of locals are teaming up and getting food to the homeless. It’s sure nice to see Locals pitching in and helping when they can.
As for myself , you have may already seen me out and about feeding the homeless on a regular basis
Today I handed out Greek chicken and some rice donated from the NSITEP program. We catered the grad and there were some supplies left over to go towards the homeless. Might as well put it to good use.
Since the news about the shelter closure , we have been distributing left overs from our catering gig on a regular basis. I’ll go out and drive around to their popular hang out spots and feed them and gather the garbage so that doesn’t become a problem for the people that like to bitch about something.

We will continue to do this as much as possible for the Tri community. Maybe we can come up with a plan for some fundraising to start a meal program for the homeless For now we will donate a portion of our gratuities when we have catering events to go towards feeding the homeless. 😍

I had permission to take a pic of our people in need. To spread the awareness of the situation. If anyone or any businesses would like team up on this initiative… give me a call or text.

Thanks. Much love and respect from my family and my staff

Wow, Interesting happenings at James Smith Cree Nations...🤔

In our quest for transparency and accountability, we have uncovered a series of troubling events involving a significant sum of money that was meant to benefit our community during the critical times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It started with a bill of three months rent totalling $14,299.44 for a warehouse in Prince Albert, which was filled with expired PPE. When I looked into who authorized these payments, it was being paid for by our First Nations Trust account and Wally Burns signed the lease agreement. After further investigation, I was told this was FSIN’s PPE and they denied ownership. Chief Cameron from FSIN offered $20,000 to help us dispose of the PPE.

After a meeting with Wally Burns, it was revealed that this situation was connected to a larger financial discrepancy. Carrie Liddy stated that she received $5.5 million in her numbered company account, a sum that was originally from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and was intended to flow through FSIN to a James Smith account to aid our community. This money never reached us. Wally Burns did provide a report. The report never stated how the money was spent. It showed pictures of First Nations with boxes of PPE. The report also stated numbers, numbers of what, I don’t know, nor was Wally Burns able to answer at the time of the meeting. In that meeting Wally Burns stated it all had to with FSIN which I have him stating that on a voicenote.

Further probing showed that the transfer of the $5.5 million was directed from an FSIN account under Wally Burns’ instructions, which the bank later confirmed could only be authorized by FSIN account holders. This means that not only did James Smith Cree Nation not receive the $5.5 million, but we also missed out on $825,000 in administration fees that could have significantly aided our community during the pandemic.

As we continue to investigate, the full scope of where and how these funds were spent is still to be uncovered. This is not just about the lost funds, but about the principle of fairness and the right to know how resources meant for us are managed. We are taking steps to address this, to ensure such oversights and errors are corrected, and to prevent them from happening in the future.

Your trust is my priority, and I am dedicated to restoring transparency and accountability in all matters concerning our community.
