These are the folks who bring your rug to life! LOOM​​​​​​​​​works with 2 workshops outside of Oaxaca, Mexico - one, a family workshop of over 5 generations & the other a women’s weaving co-op employing over 100 women.

This perfect peach color is achieved with plant dyes alone. The reds and pinks you see in our rugs are produced from cochineal and sometimes a bit of mulberry, depending on the hue.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Here's a close-up of the spinning process when fluffy wool becomes a more easily controlled fiber. ​​​​​​​​​By most accounts, humans have been spinning yarn by hand for well over 10,000 years. The finely crafted rugs we offer may be contemporary in design, but they are steeped in tradition.​​​​​​​​​

Loom has had strong ties to Peru since we started as a business - and personally before then. Here's a shot of LOOM's founder, Mae, with women's a weaving co-op in the Sacred Valley who specialize in baskstrap loom weaving.
