Strunk Racing

Race team Brad Strunk, native of Cincinnati, Ohio, has spent the majority of his life racing.

After a 12 year career as a professional motocross racer came to a end, Brad turned all of his energy toward mini sprints. In 2015, Brad established Strunk Racing, LLC and began seeking sponsorship to make his passion a reality. Since his first race at the end of 2015, Brad has quickly made his mark on the mini sprint community as one of the top mini sprint racers in the country!

Its hard to believe the season has come to an end. Great season finally at Tri State Speedway with the MSCS sprint cars, NOS USAC Midgets and MMSA Lightning Sprints.

We started out the night by setting quick time of 13.3. Quick time in the USAC Midgets was 13.4 and quick time for Sprint Cars was 13.2 ( 2nd was 13.3). Which means I was the 3rd fastest car at the race track on Saturday! Not bad for an old 47 year old washed up ex moto cross guy with only 180-190hp vs 800-950hp sprint cars and 300-380hp midgets.

We started 3rd in heat, got the lead real quick and never looked back. Started 2nd in feature. Took the lead right off the rip. 2nd and 3rd had nothing for me. They couldn't even stay with me, but some how one said I was chopping 2nd place. Hard to chop someone that isn't even there. But my left front shock broke on the restart with 6 to go, then my left rear went flat. I made it about a lap and half before 2nd slammed into me as I was just trying to hang on to the car. We both spun out / wrecked. I'm sorry that my family and friends had to hear the competition cheer when I crashed. Not much class shown. We still ended up winning the overall series championship which was fun and for the first time I ever ran all the MMSA events in one year.
I really love racing, but I think this might be it for me. At least in the lightning sprint. I have meet a lot of great drivers and families over the years. This season was just little different for me. Always being the one chased all year long. I feel like our drivers kept getting better and better as the year went on. I would like to think I helped everyone in getting better on the track. As for off the track, some of us got to know one another better as the year went on and others out right just stopped talking to us. Weirdest thing. I really enjoyed it all. I really appreciate the support from all who congratulated me. Most of you showed a lot of class. I got a message yesterday that really got me choked up..... that really was a great conversation initiated by another driver that I highly respect. I won't mention your name, but you know who you are. Definitely one of our series most solid dudes! Thanks to all of the people that work our series and thanks to all the track owners and personal that put all of these events.

Parked it in victory lane last night for 2k payday! Great time with family and friends!
Amazing facility at Tri-State Speedway- "The Class Track" and a special thanks to them for putting up the extra purse money for this race. I hope they think we all deserved it from the show that MMSA - Midwest Mini Sprint Association put on. Great show all around. Love just the two classes plus the tractor show format. This could be at every race with the amazing crowds that they draw.

This wouldn’t be possible with out all the help my team gets.
