Scotch - Second City Open Tournament Chicago

Scotch - Second City Open Tournament Chicago Board has been dedicated in making Chicago's Annual Tournament a successful weekend to gather for fellowship and competition. To create this tournament annually there are many details that need to be accomplished to create this successful event. Unfortunately, we no longer have the support needed in order to operate SCOTCH in 2023 and beyond.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to so many that have made this an enjoyable and successful tournament in prior years. We hope in the future SCOTCH can return as an annual event enjoyed by so many over the past 34 years.

I would first like to thank everyone who attended the 9 Pin No Tap today.

Our next 9 Pin is Sunday, February 19th. An invite for the event will be created within the next few days so stay tuned. Now on to today's results.

Singles event paid out 3 places today. Congrats to Mark Sissulak on his 3rd place finish, Alvin Munoz with his 2nd place finish and Patrick Dugan with his 1st Place finish.

In Blind Doubles we had 15 pairings and the 3 game combined pair totals had Patrick Dugan and John Miller cashing it in with a combined pin count of 1726.

The mystery scores of 166 and 239 paid off as these 3 bowlers "Tommy Leinweber, Andre Vargas and Courtney Briggs" took home cash with those winning scratch scores.

The Strike Pot Raffle had "Mark Sissulak" crushing the pocket after having his ticket drawn and then smashing the pocket for $260.00.

Thanks again for supporting Scotch - Second City Open Tournament Chicago and again Congrats to all the winners today. Today's event paid out a total of $1545.00 to it's winners and an additional $215.00 was added to the 34th Annual SCOTCH Charity Fund.

“Summer in Chicago?”

The 2023 Scotch - Second City Open Tournament Chicago Board and Committee would like to announce our new dates for the 34th Annual SCOTCH Tournament, June 16th thru June 18th weekend.

Our kickoff event is Thursday, June 15th with events celebrating and honoring Juneteenth weekend. Stay tuned for event details that will be posted within the next month.

Friday, June 16th a 9 Pin No Tap Bowl will kickoff Chicago’s PrideFest weekend that is celebrated in Boystown in Lakeview over the tournament weekend. Bowler registration for our 34th Annual Tournament will also be held.

Saturday, June 17th is the official start to the SCOTCH Tournament weekend. This year we will begin with Team Event starting at 9:00 am and Doubles Event beginning at 1:00 PM.
Post events will be scheduled at PrideFest. Details TBD.

Sunday, June 18th Singles event will begin at 10:00 am and followed up with Scratch Masters beginning at 1:00 PM. Awards and Banquet TBD.

Monday, June 19th is our recovery party for those who celebrated too hard over the weekend. This event will be held at Hollywood Beach. Time and details TBD.

The SCOTCH Fundraising Committee will be hosting our first fundraiser event with a 9 Pin No Tap at Waveland Bowl on Sunday, November 20th, 2022. $30 pre-online registration for entry in the link below. Handicap Brackets and Mystery Score can be purchased online or in person. In person registration on date of the event is $35.

Thanks to everyone who attended the 33rd Annual Second City Open Tournament-Chicago last weekend. We hope everyone had an amazing time.

Tomorrow we are finalizing the audit of the tournament and those who cashed in singles, doubles, team and all events will receive an email on Monday to confirm an instant Zelle payment or if you would like to receive a check mailed.

Those winners cashing in Dark Horse Doubles and winners who couldn’t attend the banquet who cashed in any sidepots will also receive an email confirming payment method.
