As the summer season comes to an end, we have been getting some questions about options for soccer this fall and winter.
There are 2 organizations in our district that offer programming in the fall and winter: Mahone Bay United and South Shore United.

Mahone Bay United offers free programming in the fall and then again in the winter to players aged 4 - adult at the Mahone Bay Community Centre in Mahone Bay. Currently, they have 2 things happening soon. They are offering a 1 day pre-season camp for players going into grade 7-9 this year and the other program is for their fall sessions. This club does not travel to play games against other teams. Visit their website or page (Mahone Bay Soccer) for more information.

South Shore United offers two kinds of paid programming at the HB Fieldhouse in Bridgewater. They have development programming for players age 4-12 and then also offer competitive teams for players age 10-18 who will travel to the city to play in the late fall/winter league. South Shore United hasn't finalized their fall/winter programming plan yet but when they do, I will email it out. They will also have the information on their website and page (South Shore United FC). Typically, their programming starts in October.

Upper County United starts planning for the summer season in late March so I will send an email out about what we have going on next summer near the end of March 2024.

We will work on individual ball control & creativity, passing to advance down the field, 11-a-side set up and finish with small sided games. This session is open to all players on the south shore seeking to play in boys and girls Junior High teams.

Date: Tuesday, September 5th
Kick off: 9:30am (please arrive latest 9:15am)
Final whistle: 3:30pm (please pick up latest 4pm)
Please bring:
-Cleats and indoor shoes for 1hr classroom session
-Shorts, shin pads, soccer shirt of your favourite team

Hello all,

Just a friendly reminder that we are back on for tonight u-13 girls soccer practice, but it will be on at the NG Elementary School vs high school from 6:30-8pm.

U13 girls skills sessions : Due to Mother Nature's gift of rain for the last 30 days, we are going to cancel soccer tonight and let the fields dry out.

In addition, it's supposed to be incrediby hot.

We are happy to tag on an extra week of soccer in lieu of during the 3rd week of Aug.

HALIFAX WANDERERS SUMMER CAMP - Players will learn from wanderers coaches in a fun, inclusive environment with different themes for each camp built around our club values. Included in your registration is a wanderers t-shirt, a wanderers soccer ball and a certificate of participation.
Ages 7 - 12 yrs. 8:30am-4pm, August 14-18.

We are finalizing our registration details and wanted to get some information from you! Please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/etTwmTUSS1ThFsDr8 for each player you have.
We will be opening our registration system on Saturday April 8th! Player fees will be included in the registration information this weekend.

We are hoping to have enough players to have the following teams this summer:
U4/U5/U6 (coed) : One night a week @ NGES; 6 sessions starting in mid-June.
U7/U8 (boys and girls): One practice a week @ NGES; 6 sessions starting in mid-June with the possibility of 2 away mini tournaments in our district if there are enough players
U9 (boys and girls): One practice a week @ NGES. Teams will be playing in a local league (3 home games and 3 away) if there are enough players. If there aren't, we will do practice sessions @ NGES and play small games within our team.
U11 boys: One practice a week @ NGES. Teams will be playing in a local league (5 home games and 5 away) if there are enough players.
U13/U15 girls: One practice a week @ NGES or WNES. The team will be playing in a local league (5 home games and 5 away).
U18 girls: One practice a week @ NGRHS or WNES. The team will be playing in the valley league

Summer Registration information coming April 3!

South Shore United is planning on hosting keeper training this fall and they are putting on an introductory session this Friday (August 19th - so technically today). The purpose of the session this Friday (today) is to give the organizers an opportunity to see the interested players and to give the interested players a chance to see what the program in the fall will be like. The session this Friday (today) will be held at PVC at 7pm and is open to players age 9 and up. Please check your emails for more information.

U4-u11 practice is at NGES tonight

u4-6: 6:pm - 6:30
u7-9: 6pm - 7pm
u11 girls: 6:30pm - 7:30pm,

Shin pads are required for all players. Cleats are options for U4-U9 and are required for the u11 teams.

Soccer Nova Scotia 2022 Student Awards/Scholarships Available

Soccer Nova Scotia is pleased to offer university entrance student awards/scholarships to outstanding members of Soccer Nova Scotia.

The recipient must commence post-secondary studies at a Canadian university or college in 2022.

New this year, the 2022 Scholarship Application form is fully online. There are eight scholarships being offered – two of $600 each, four of $750 and two, four year scholarships of $500/year.
