The Ranch
Safe haven for Lake Chapala area's abandoned & abused dogs. To volunteer or donate call 331-270-4447.
The Lakeside Spay and Neuter Center, AC (located in Ajijic / Chapala) was started in 2001 when there was an imperative need to help the many abandoned and abused dogs in our area. Through the efforts of many in the Lakeside community, our Ranch (a no-kill shelter) became a haven for some of the most at need Lakeside dogs. We have spayed and neutered thousands of dogs, nursed sick and starving dogs
Our lovely Annabelle is adopted! Happy trails, sweet girl! We know you will live your best life with Diane and your new furry siblings❣️🐶🐾🙌🏼
BOTONES heard he is going to LCS for Adoption Day on Wednesday. Come meet him, from 10 to noon. He loves a car ride and he would really love a family to call his own.
Is this a stuffed animal or a real life puppy? It's Valentin and he's a dream who was just adopted! Congratulations to his new family who will hopefully carry him around in that purse. 🤣
Interested in adopting a pup from one of our recent litters? DM, call, email or WhatsApp us today! Info in our bio.
🥁🥁🥁 Drumroll please.... Jerry has left the building! 🥁🥁🥁
❤️ This sweet Lab-alicious dude has been with us since December 2022! We love it when adopters give our longtime residents a chance at a home.
❤️ Like most Labs, he loves food and attention and we're pretty sure he is going to get it in spades from here on out.
❤️ Congrats to Jerry & his new family! ❤
Curious about Ranch history … and future?
Ramblings From The Ranch - July 2024 - El Ojo del Lago Leaving a Legacy Over 20 years ago, two women made a decision that would create a legacy in the Lake Chapala dog rescue community. Around the year 2000, Diane Hazen and Gudrun Jones began the rescue that would later be known as The Ranch. At that time, a dog shelter existed in Riberas that helped [....
🧡 Oh. My. HEART! 🧡
Congratulations to Tina who was just adopted this week. She is one of a recent dump of puppies to the property (so, YES, we have MORE available right now). We aren't sure how people can be so HEARTless when this little angel has her heart right on her sweet belly.
Congratulations to her new family who will no doubt spoil her silly. She deserves it!
We aren’t kidding, we have a lot of puppies! This is the V litter which stands for VERY cute!

STOP! SCAMMER TIME!
The bots are back in action and they want to sell you hoodies with our logo on them.
Here is a photo of what a post or comment may look like on our page. Don't fall for it! AND - you can hit "Report Comment" and then "Fraud/Scam" and it will go away.
We currently only sell any of our branded merchandise at the shelter or at our events. We will soon be able to sell them online but not at the moment. When we do, believe us, there will be much fanfare! 🐶
Woof, it's hot out here! 🥵
We are pausing (ahem, PAWWWWSING 🐾) our monthly adoption events at Lake Chapala Society until it cools down a bit for our doggos to hang outside to meet folks. If you are interested in your own meetup with any of our adoptable babes, send us a message and we can make it happen! We have some darn cute puppies and super charming adults ready to go home with you. 🐶
It is shedding season at The Ranch! PS, we need more dog walkers if you can help!
***COURTESY POST***
This lovely Weimaraner apparently was left behind by her owner, who moved and didn’t take the dog.💔🐶 Can you foster or adopt? She is about 2-3 years old and gorgeous, as you can see. For more information please contact Ana Luisa Maldonado, 331-599-7980.
We hit our matching funds goal! Thank YOU, everyone!!!
