The long-running EARTH with John Holden is featuring Turntide on their upcoming episode, which premieres this weekend. We showed EARTH how and where we design and build the systems that electrify commercial and industrial vehicles, which produce most of the world's air pollution and carbon emissions from the sector.

Turntide was honored to accept the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation with a ceremony at our battery plant in Sunderland, UK.
Our team welcomed the Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear Lucy Winskell OBE LL and the Mayor of Sunderland Alison Smith as Turntide received its award for its Hyperdrive battery system.
The award recognizes businesses in Great Britain that demonstrate innovative and commercially successful products or services.

Last week, California suffered its longest and hottest heat wave in recorded history.
Keeping tens of millions of people safe and healthy in triple-digit heat required a lot of energy. Facing a potential overload of the grid, the state sent text alerts to mobile phones, asking people to conserve energy during the hottest part of the afternoon.
It worked! People conserved. And the state avoided blackouts.
Climate change requires *societal* change. Humanity can win small climate battles when we work together. And we can prevent the worst of climate change by collaborating on the big solutions: clean power, electrification, and efficiency.

The transportation industry accounts for 23% of carbon emissions worldwide.
Building operations — all of the systems that make buildings function, like heating and cooling systems and plumbing — account for a staggering 28% of the world’s CO2 emissions. If buildings were a country, they would vie with China over how much carbon they emit.
Combine the two industries and you’ve got half the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. But we can’t live without buildings or transportation.
