Exco Member ADAMA JARJU- An Inspiration OF The Women’s Game
Born and brought up in Kombo Sifoe in the West Coast Region, Adama Jarju is the CEO and founder of Yakaar Football Academy currently playing in the Regional 3rd Division league in West Coast Region.
Adama has been in football administration and management for the past decade having served at different levels ranging from her community, District and Regional levels. She holds a C license coaching certificate and has gone on to partake in many sports administration clinics at Regional and National level.
In 2017, She served as an Executive Member of the West Coast Regional Coaches Association before going on to serve as an Executive Member in the West Coast Region Academy Association. She is a women football ambassador, a role given to her by the Gambia Football Federation in 2016.
She was recently elected as the Women Football Representative in the Brikama Sports Committee's Election tasked with the responsibility of overseeing all women football matters in Sateba.
Away from sports, Adama Jarju in 2019 founded daughters of Gambia foundation which supports young children at community level to pay their school bills, provide them with learning materials and also give back to the community by planting trees and other activities in West Coast Region. Miss Jarju holds certificates in Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) level 2 and 3 from the Management Development Institute and also holds a Diploma certificate in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the same institution.
