Ping Pong Super Ranga: Palm Oil Educator
Fun-loving junior advocate for palm oil awareness, orangutan rights and well-being.
Kaya Peeps,
Today we tried palm oil free Sunfed Bull Free Beef. It's plant-based, soy-free, made with pea protein.
Made in New Zealand, if you're worried about carbon miles. It is a processed food that comes wrapped in soft plastic and packed in cardboard (recyclable/compostable).
Out of the packet, it's got a coating of solidified fat, but don't worry. That cooks down and you get tender strips. We added it to a braised noodle dish and it fell apart into shreds. The instructions do say to pan fry.
(Ah, we read the fine print afterwards and it says "minimal stirring best". Doh.)
Verdict: Kind of pretend beefy flavours but if you just want textured plant-based protein, it's actually not bad. Will try it pan fried next.
Love, peace and no bull,

So Peeps Mummy's psychologist decided that she doesn't need to do any inner child work.
Especially after Mummy brought us in with her and we started talking to the psychologist, who is a very sensible human indeed. She said we look very cute! A good assessment!

We love sunset BBQ picnics with the Peeps!
It feels like Birak weather has arrived, phenomenologically speaking. Although it's still Kambarang on the mapping of the six Noongar seasons to the Gregorian calendar.
Love, peace and sunsets,

These Aldi Kringle & Co liqueur cherries are pretty yummy, and palm oil free! Hope you're getting your palm oil free Christmas treats organised!
Love, peace & chocolate cherries,

Well, Peeps!
I guess I've hit the big time. Does Magic Mike (widowed) know I'm a baby ranga and it's highly inappropriate to proposition under-age individuals?

Hope you had a smashing Halloween!
Peeps Mummy helped us carve Vampire Bluey and Uni Corn on our pumpkin. Uni's very pleased, and no wonder! Enjoyed our palm oil free chocolates too. We Love Darrell Lea and Whittaker's for palm oil free chocolate options!
How did you spend Halloween night?

Made new friends at a wedding. It was pretty amazing and such a happy multicultural Italian-Chinese affair so it was HUUUGE and went for a whole day! So much love and joy and congratulations to the happy couple!

We did our best, Peeps. We can do better next time.
G'day, Peeps!
Making sure we're all ready for the AFL Grand Final with palm oil free snacks. Peeps Daddy loves Kettle Chips but Peeps Mummy is more a Smith's Crisps girl.

Kaya, everyone!
School hols are on in WA. If going out and about for food, try to eat in, rather than take away, to save disposables.
Or take a cup, straw, reusable cutlery, container, etc. for everyone!!

One of our ranga prime mates at Perth Zoo down the road was having a grumpy day. Possum is OK.

Hope you had a Happy Father's Day, Peeps! For those who celebrate this day, that is! We're sure the size of these jars of Cadbury's chocolate coated peanuts and almonds has shrunk! Got them for Peeps Daddy and he loves them!
Palm oil free too (Cadbury's plain milk chocolate only, without fillings)!
Kaya, Peeps!
Aunty Aruni popped by with these out-of-this-world nama chocolates. So velvety smooth, they melt in your mouth! No palm oil! Nama chocolate is a Japanese ganache confection and you can make it at home with three ingredients - chocolate, cream and cocoa powder. Or four if you add cognac (optional). It's apparently based on the Swiss confection pave de Geneva.
Super easy nama recipe here.

๐๐ Celebrating World Primate Day with Jane Goodall Institute Australia! ๐ต๐ฟ
On this special day, we honour the incredible legacy of Dr. Jane Goodall and her groundbreaking work that has forever changed our understanding of primates and their place in our world. ๐โจ
Dr. Goodall's tireless dedication has not only revealed the remarkable intelligence and complex emotions of our primate cousins but also highlighted the urgent need for their protection and conservation. Through her pioneering research and advocacy, she has shown us that every species, every individual, has a vital role to play in maintaining the delicate balance of our planet's ecosystems. ๐๐ฑ
Do you know someone who has a passion for primates? Why not consider giving them the meaningful gift of becoming a 'chimp guardian'! ๐ต๐ Visit the link to become a Guardian today! https://janegoodall.org.au/chimp-guardian/
Today, join us in recognising the profound impact of Jane Goodall's work and its ripple effect on primate conservation efforts worldwide. Let's stand together to ensure a future where primates continue to thrive in their natural habitats, and where we embrace our responsibility as stewards of the Earth. ๐ณ๐

Excellent photo story by our fellow Borneon Nikodemus Niko about how palm oil plantations are threatening the life and traditions of his people, the Dayak Benawan of Borneo in Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Enjoyed our Sunday afternoon on the John George Walktrail in Woodbridge. Mo is getting pretty good at draughts - a game of strategy - and thoroughly thrashed Ping Pong!
Said hello to the ducks and cute fluffy ducklings, countless white herons, parrots, crows and magpies!
And a fantastic sunset on the drive home!
Love Perth winters!

We love supporting community radio especially RTRFM 92.1 because our Peeps Mummy is one of their long-serving volunteer presenters.
We're sticking with you, RTRFM, not just during but all the time! Rock on!
Go the Matildas! It's even, Peeps! Going into extra time! Glad we've got some nut bars for energy to tide us over. That No.20 player isn't bad at all.
The & Natural roasted nut bars seem palm oil free, possible palm oil derived ingredients being glycerol and lecithin.
Made more friends with Canberran wildlife. Very friendly magpies and curious possums in the grounds of our hotel. We also visited the National Arboretum Canberra where we saw interesting tree specimens, ancient Wollemi pines and a bonsai display.
Yumalundi, Peeps!
Canberra on Ngunnawal country. We're having a capital time brushing up on our knowledge of the constitution and democratic processes, and getting to know the local wildlife.
The fight against palm oil disinformation is ongoing, Peeps!
Palm oil plantations absorb more carbon than tropical forests, claims Indonesian palm lobbyist An executive for the Indonesian government's palm oil agency suggested that the crop is a more powerful carbon sink than the natural forests that it has replaced. Experts dismiss the claim as "goofy"...
Kaya Peeps!
We got inspired watching the ABC's War on Waste show and helped Peeps Daddy sort our three year old collection of mixed recyclables using the Recycle Right WA app. We're pretty much a low consumption, low waste, waste household but we can still always do heaps better!

It's getting close to Djilba, early spring (season of conception) on the traditional Noongar calendar. Gorgeous sunset and early native blossoms at our beloved King's Park. The wattles are coming out and we love Qualup Bells!

UPDATE: We contacted Pental about this and received a response (see comments).
Kaya Peeps!
Just a little disappointed that Aussie owned and made Pental have over time switched their Country Life bar soap recipe to contain palm oil.
Palm oil free bar soaps are getting harder to find at mainstream retailers.
We prefer to buy bar soap in cardboard multipacks as it's plastic free and less wasteful.
Love, peace and conscious consumption,

Good article, Peeps!
Hope deforestation continues to slow down in Indonesia, encouraging to see the impact of government and corporate sector actions driven by climate change and consumer groups. We can all do something!
Explainer: Why deforestation has hit a historic low in Indonesia Experts attribute Indonesia's drop in forest loss to stricter clearance permits, unusually wet weather and declining palm oil prices.
Kaya, Peeps,
Had a fabulous day hanging out with our lovely friend, Lorinda Jane, a great friend of orangutans and our jungle friends, showing her round our 'hood.
Mountains of appreciation and respect for all your work in palm oil education and saving wildlife with the Ellis Park team.
Thanks so much, LJ, totally excellent to see you again and very chuffed we got to catch up.
Lots of peace, love and hugs,

Hope you have a great weekend!

We've had a really quick trip this time to see Peeps Granddad. Always hard to say goodbye. At the airport, checked in and ready for the long haul home Down Under!
Peeps Daddy fought his way through the school-holiday crowds and has got us airside seats in the nice Emirates lounge.
No sign of the plane yet - as last news it was 20mins late....
Love and peace,
PP & Mo # # #
Sorry about the picture quality! We spotted this adorable mother-and-child squirrel hit squad raiding Peeps Granddad's bulbs in the planter.

We get really bored on long flights but it was worth it, going to see Peeps Granddad and Hector!

Helped Peeps Daddy to smash out his report in the airport lounge, with minutes to spare, before we got on the plane!
Ranga power ๐ฆง๐ฆง๐ฆง!
We made this, Peeps!
Ranga-made special order of a retro favourite - Australian Women's Weekly Festive Fruit & Nut Cake for Peeps Granddad's 88th birthday ๐. We'll be hand delivering it to him in Scotland. It was fun decorating the cake. Doesn't it look amazingly good? Brushed the top and sides with single malt Scotch whisky and Pedro Ximinez.
