I am honoured to be involved in a celebration the English language publication of ‘The Last Pomegranate Tree’ by the internationally acclaimed, award-winning Kurdish Writer Bachtyar Ali.
These events will be hosted jointly by Scottish PEN and The Scottish Writers' Centre
Tonight Edinburgh 6.30 at The Saltire Society
Tomorrow Glasgow, 6.00 at The Mandela Room, University of Strathclyde
There will be readings and discussions with author Bachtyar and his translator Kareem Abdulrahman.
There will be further readings from the contributors to the last PENning issue on the theme of 'Arrival'.
I hope to see you there.
Forest Publishing are holding two events to launch their Origin Stories Anthology. I will be reading at the second one at Lighthouse - Edinburgh's Radical Bookshop on 31st January. Why not join us if you can. It would be great to see some friendly faces in the crowd.

My French publisher, Des Nouvelles d’ailleurs have gained a Ministry of Culture accreditation which means they can offer me more online interviews with French schools and expand their markets. I love the way my wee short bi-lingual novel, Hector the Hero, has a life of its own over the channel.
It is 10 years since my debut novel The Incomers was first published. Time for a facelift! The Incomers is now published by my own imprint, Trilleachan Press. Although I still love the original cover, it is time to update it to link in with my other Trilleachan Publication, Before Now. I hope you like it.
