Congratulations to all our riders at the 2024 County Interschool State Championship. ✨️It was a hard slog getting those qualifying scores and then more hard work preparing for this event. 👌Some of our riders had challenges during the event!!! That's the nature of our sport with our beloved equine partners. 💜They don't always want to play the game on the day 🤷‍♀️. This teaches our young riders persistence, patience and resilience and we saw buckets of it over these past few days. 👍You all performed superbly and should be proud of how you went. Your representation of the college was fantastic!!! Safe travels home, enjoy the rest of your holidays. Many thanks to our supportive and fabulous parents as well 🥰

We have our final golden ticket for nationals. Lucy placed 2nd in her last class to finish 3rd overall & get her 2nd golden ticket to nationals 👏Well done Lucy & Hugo. Congratulations to all of our riders who represented the college over the course of the last 5 days of competition.

29/06/2024

We have another golden ticket to nationals with Fraser earning his spot with a 3rd overall in the show horse. Congratulations Fraser 👏🙌Unfortunately it wasn’t the best finish at states for Casey-Jade, who’s horse went lame & had to scratch from her show horse class & Lyla, who’s trusty old steed just wasn’t himself over the last couple of days but finished with a clear round today 👌Lucy is the last of our riders competing today in the 1m & 110m today.

27/06/2024

We have another golden ticket to nationals 👌🙌This was probably one of the most rewarding tickets that I’ve seen with Alicia’s pony making her earn every single mark in her tests. (He wasn’t giving her an easy ride that’s for sure!) Alicia kept her cool & pressed on to be awarded 4th overall & she’s off to nationals 👏👌Congratulations Alicia 🙌We also saw Casey-Jade, Fraser & Dakota stepping out for the first time today & we will have their overall results tomorrow. The Showjumping starts tomorrow & will run over the next 3 days. This year we only have two riders Lyla & Lucy, in the showjumping & we wish them both the best of luck. 🤞

First day of competition is done and dusted ✔️Equestrian is such a tough sport as not only do you as a rider have to be at your best but you’re also relying on your horse to do the same. Today wasn’t the best day for Eloise and Alicia as both of their ponies didn’t want to play nicely. The girls did a great job riding ponies that weren’t very cooperative. Lucy & Hugo had a better day finishing 4th overall & securing themselves a golden ticket to Nationals for the second consecutive year in a row. The eventing leaderboard winners were also announced at presentation with Ari & Floyd finishing 3rd overall and also earning themselves a golden ticket to nationals. Congratulations Lucy & Ari 👏👏

Huge THANK YOU to Lani for looking after team this weekend. ❤️❤️❤️ I am disappointed I was not able to attend. Congratulations also to Adele for running such a successful CT competition!! 👏✨️ Good to know that I have someone to hand reins to????😉🤪
Hoping you and your ponies get some well deserved rest in warm dry beds🥰🥰🥰🥰 Mrs Gould

Another great day of competition for our Eagles 🦅 Today we had Fraser & Robbie pony strutting their stuff in the dressage arena. This discipline is new for both Fraser & Robbie & only the second weekend giving it a go. Well what can I say?? Nailed it! Regional Intermediate Prelim Champions 👌🙌Well done Fraser, you rode 2 lovely tests and you should be proud of yourself. Alicia and her superstar pony Mo, once again blitzed the competition and they were awarded Regional Elementary Champions. This combination is looking the goods for states. Evie and the lovely Charlie pony were sixth and eighth in their tests. Lucy and Hugo stepped up in the showjumping ring today and were awarded Reserve Champion Secondary 1.10m. Lucy and Hugo sure are having a great weekend. Tomorrow we have the Show Horse, Dressage and the last of our Showjumping to finish off. The rain has come in but we will see what tomorrow brings. Let’s go Eagles 🦅 🙌

Day 1 of Regionals are done & dusted. The rain stayed away which was awesome 🤩 Evie rode Mrs Pickard’s pony in the CT class for the first time and although it wasn’t their day they put together a nice test and managed to get around the jump course. The day belonged to Lucy though. Lucy rode her trusty steed Hugo and did a lovely dressage test and equally lovely clear jump round to be awarded Regional Champions finishing on their dressage score. Well done and well deserved Lucy & Hugo. Tomorrow sees a few more of our riders in the dressage and Showjumping classes. Good luck tomorrow Eagles 🦅

On the weekend we had four of our riders compete at Southport for an IQ Tag on dressage event. Alicia was once again awarded Elementary Champion on her pony Mo. Evie had her first outing for the year on board Charlie pony and were awarded Reserve Champion Preliminary. Casey-Jade rode in both the Novice tests and gained the last of her state qualifiers. We also had a new member of the team Claire ride in the Preliminary class and also gained a state qualifier. Well done to all of our riders. We’re looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season unfolds. A special mention to Jasmine Dunmore Photography for the professional photos of Alicia and Evie from this lot of photos 👌🩷

Sorry for the delay in posting…Three of our riders (That I’m aware of) competed at the Stuartholme Interschool competition held at Fig Tree Pocket a couple of weeks ago. Alicia coming away with overall Elementary Champion. Casey-Jade was top 10 and gained two state qualifiers and Dakota also placed top 10 competing for the first time in the intermediate class. Congratulations to these riders. We look forward to seeing them out and about this year along with the rest of our team.

All of our Emmaus horses, ponies & riders are all home safe & well. Rest up everyone, back to school on Monday 👌

04/10/2023

That’s a wrap from Nationals for our Emmaus team. The last day proved to be a bit tricky, with Alicia & Mo having to battle the rain & wind in both their tests. Alicia you should be proud of your achievements on both horses as it’s an amazing achievement to qualify 2 horses for such a prestigious event. Lucy & Hugo had a lazy rail in their final event for the competition. They were the only ones from our college to have competed on all 4 days over 2 different disciplines. To only have one rail down for the entire competition is an achievement in itself. Casey-Jade has arrived home while the rest of us are slowly making our way home. Girls you should all be proud of how you rode 👌You were all amazing 👌👌💕💕

Update from Nationals. Casey-Jade & her beautiful black horse Zeus were placed 9th overall in a super competitive class that ended up running almost 2 hours behind & found them doing their workout on dusk which wasn’t ideal but they managed to do a lovely workout. Today saw Evie & Charlie pony (owned by Mrs Pickard) taking to the dressage arenas where they ended up placing 7th overall which was a huge effort for such a young pony & the two of them have only been competing together since April!! Evie rode exceptionally well & did 2 lovely tests. Lucy was on fire again today in the showjumping. She ended up 6th in the 90cm class. Lucy & Hugo have jumped a CT jump round & two 90cm height classes so far & they’ve all been clear rounds which is fantastic 👏Last day for her tomorrow. Alicia had the day off competing but hits the dressage arenas tomorrow!! Looking forward to seeing what she can do. Good luck for tomorrow girls 👌

Incredibly proud watching these girls go up & receive their prizes at Nationals tonight. Lucy did an outstanding job finishing on her dressage score to be National Reserve Champion & then part of the Qld team who were 3rd overall 👌Alicia & fellow Qld team mate Morgan were the National Champions for the Pas de Deux & it was wonderful to see the Qld spirit & friendships that have been formed during the competition. Well done girls 👏👌More action tomorrow with Showjumping & dressage

Photos from Emmaus College Equestrian's post 01/10/2023

Overnight pairs of riders teamed up with other mates from their states to compete in the Pas de Deux. This was done to music of their own choice, with the riders dressing up & creating movements to mirror each other. Alicia teamed up with fellow Queenslander Morgan to the Star Wars theme & were awarded 1st overall 👏👏Congratulations girls this was a great achievement after only 3 practice runs together 👌

01/10/2023

News just to hand…Lucy & Calveston Bonanza (AKA Hugo) have just finished the showjumping phase of the Secondary 95cm CT, with a beautiful clear round to finish on their dressage score. Lucy did a lovely dressage test yesterday to be sitting in 2nd place & had to jump clear today under pressure, to maintain her position. Lucy & Hugo did a very nice, controlled round & are now the National Reserve Champions!!! We are all so very proud of her & Hugo 👏👏💕💕

29/09/2023

So it begins…Day 1 of competition sees our girls having a late start after lunch which is a nice change. Lucy competing in the dressage phase of the 95cm CT. Casey-Jade will be out late this afternoon in the Show Horse & tonight Alicia & her fellow Qld team member Morgan, will take to the indoor arena in the Pas De Deux. Good luck little Eagles 🤞Whatever will be will be. You’re all amazing to get this far & I know you’ll all do the best you can do 🤗👌💕

So after almost 1800 kms travelling over 4 days, Team Emmaus have arrived in Werribee ahead of the Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Championships. The horses & ponies breezed through the vet inspection, had a ride in the arenas to familiarise themselves & are ready for the first competition to start on Saturday 👌Go Queensland

The Eagles have arrived safe & well at beautiful Kilmore Equestrian Centre in Victoria after 1700 plus kms on the road over 3 days. The horses & ponies have travelled super & were very impressed with their new paddocks for the next couple of days. This property is AMAZING & must be what heaven is like I’m sure! Here for a couple of days to allow the horses & ponies time to recover, have a decent stretch out in beautiful paddocks & some last minute training before heading into camp on Thursday 👌Facilities are fantastic & all the girls said the surface of the arena was super to ride on 🙏💕

Well that’s another week of IQ States done & dusted for another year. This week has been full of highs & lows for our team but as the old saying goes “You’ve got to take the good with the bad & that’s horses!” Firstly I would like to congratulate our team as a whole. Some of you were there the entire week like I was & it was cold!!! You were all up early tending to your horses & going to bed late after checking in on them to make sure they had enough rugs on overnight 🙌👌👏The last day was a mixed bag for our team. In the show horse, we saw our littlest rider Alexa, 3rd overall & Chloe 5th overall. Great riding girls. Fraser was overall state champion on one pony & secured himself a golden ticket to nationals! He then rode his second pony to overall 5th with Dakota just behind him on 6th overall. Super efforts by both riders. These results gave our primary team 3rd overall. Great job kiddies 👌Our quiet achiever who has exceeded all expectations in our group of hackies was Casey-Jade who came away with overall state champion & also secured herself a golden ticket to nationals! So proud that you stuck it out Casey-Jade after having not such a good week with your horse. Well done! Over to the last day of CT. Lucy did a lovely clear round to finish on her dressage score in a hotly contested comp. There was only a rail separating the top 6 places. Well ridden Lucy 👌Vienna, our team captain also did a super clear round in her last IQ State champs! Fantastic effort V & Sq**rt loved his kiss at the end ❤️Ari also pulled off a clear round which was great riding by her after a little mishap the day before. Alicia didn’t have the luck with her when her big horse decided she’d had enough & Evie was also unlucky when her horse decided to test her out. She managed to persevere & she got around her jump round. This gave our CT team of Lucy, Vienna, Ari & Evie 5th overall. Our only 2 Interschool eventers, Antonia & Vienna were awarded overall 4th for eventing which was fantastic given that there was only 2 of them! I really hope I have got these places right & that I haven’t forgotten anyone? It’s been a big week!!!! (I apologise if I have) So a quick recap on who made the state team heading to nationals!

Alicia - Elementary dressage
Alicia - Novice dressage (On her second horse)
Lucy - 90cm Showjumping
Casey-Jade - Show Horse
Fraser - Show Horse

Evie is in a reserve spot position for Senior Preliminary Dressage & we will wait to see how it unfolds in the next few weeks. Lucy is also in a reserve spot position for CT. Please congratulate our riders on their efforts over the last week. I only have a few pics to share but hopefully I will be able to post more later when they come to hand 👌

A special thanks to all of the parents for sticking it out in these tough conditions this last week through all the highs & lows, the laughter & the tears. I’m sure your kids appreciate you & all that you do for them. 🙌👏

That’s a wrap for day 4 of states! What an action packed couple of days it’s been in the showjumping, with some rails down, some of our riders parted company with their horses & of course some wonderful clear jump rounds. Today saw Lucy receive her golden ticket to nationals with a great round of jumping to finish 3rd overall. Well done Lucy👏👏Lyla was 5th overall. Antonia was 9th overall & collectively we were 5th overall secondary team. The team was made up of scores from Lucy, Lyla, Antonia & Ari. Congratulations girls on great performances this week. We also had the eventing presentation & this saw Antonia 7th overall & Vienna 8th overall. Great effort girls with big numbers in those classes! 🤗Tomorrow is the last day of competition & we wrap up the week with Vienna, Lucy, Ari, Evie & Alicia all trying to climb the ladder with clear jump rounds to finish their CT competition. We welcome our show horse team to the arena with Casey-Jade, Fraser, Dakota, Alexa & Chloe all strutting their stuff. It has been an extremely long week & it’s definitely had its ups & downs but it’s been a great week away albeit freezing 🥶 Good luck to our Eagles tomorrow 🤞🤞

Photos from Emmaus College Equestrian's post 28/06/2023

A very chilly start to day 4 🥶Very windy conditions this morning. The team all did a great job yesterday with some great clear rounds, & a couple of unlucky rails but they have regrouped, refocused & are ready for today!! I have to give a huge shoutout to one of our riders in particular. Alicia!!! Not only was she awarded Intermediate Elementary State Dressage Champion on Monday but she was also awarded 4th overall yesterday in the Novice class on her second horse. This has given Alicia 2 golden tickets to Nationals on her 2 horses which is absolutely amazing given the class numbers. Alicia begins her 3rd & final event for today, the CT80. Let’s see what she can do! Good luck to all of our other riders who are up getting ready to head down for ring familiarisation this morning at 6.30. These kids work so hard & put in incredibly long days for their sport, feeding, grooming & mucking out stables, on top of all the pressures of the competition. Fly high little Eagles 🦅 & give it your best today! 🤞🤞
