This Friday 6/11 from 10pm-2am at Neon Grotto (mezzanine) it's the return of Disco Swallows! A celebration of the music that emerged and endured from the ashes of that hateful fateful day when, in the summer of 1979, a local Chicago disc jockey promoted Disco Demolition Night during a baseball doubleheader at Comiskey Park. Despite the racist, homophobic, riotous display, disco endured in etc. Come thru with Pride and Pleasure. Shadowsweat, Glitterspit, and Daddie Dearest get you through.

Ten years ago asked me how to get people talking about q***r community at events and I told him to scatter a bunch of q***r literature around the venue. While we never got around to Nancy's Q***r Affirmation Book Nook, his disco parties turned ATX on its ear and turned out its q***r. We haven't been the same since. We're gonna celebrate during Pride Weekend with a full on takeover of the .austin / .grotto compound this Saturday from 10pm 'til late. I'll be running the Grotto Dark Room with Mason () and Purple Matter (). Let's do this Pride proper and blast into an even q***rer future ATX! ***r 🌈 ***ratx
