It is an honor and privilege to be invited with Rabbanit Devorah Halevy to Congregation Ezra Bessaroth, The Center for Sephardic Life in Seattle!

We will be spending Shabbat with this special community, under the spiritual leadership of Rabbi David Benchlouch, our dear friend and colleague - and student of Morenu HaRav Rabbi Yaakov Peretz.

The theme of this entire weekend is “Keeping It Together For Israel”, and we pray that HaKadosh Baruch Hu keep our brothers and sisters in Israel safe, and protect our beloved soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces.

We look forward to learning together and greeting each of you personally!

We are all concerned about the war in Israel. I have spent the last 24 hours juggling the numerous texts and phone calls coming my way.

Rabbanit Devorah Halevy and I recognize that while we spent the entire holiday processing the situation with our local Shiviti community, Kehillat Shaar HaShamayim, our global Shiviti community still hasn’t had the chance to just sit with us and be together during these difficult times.

Though we usually try not to make last-minute events, we feel that this is different and that time is of the essence.

All members of the Shiviti family are invited to join with us for an informal discussion with both of us tonight. Please consider this a personal invitation.
